Honestly one of the worst restaurants I've been to.
The food is way too overpriced for what you're getting. The only thing that matches the price of the food is the portion size, however this sadly isn't a positive, because the food is so bland and unoriginal that it becomes a chore finishing the food (for reference I had the glass noodle salad with chicken).
Just based off of the quality of the food I would've given the restaurant 2 maybe even 3 stars, because they had a nice mango lassi, but the boring food wasn't the restaurant's biggest problem.
What I disliked the most about the dining experience was the unbelievably poor service, which really surprised me, after seeing so many positive reviews on google when looking up the place.
It took nearly 45 minutes for the food to finally get served to us and this wasn't an exception, as we noticed that nearly every table, including the ones which were already taken when we arrived, waited at least half an hour before being served any food. The table next to us, on which a couple was being seated, had a different problem, which was that one of the people received their food a good 30-40 minutes before the other person did, although the other person, who had to wait for theor food, only ordered some sushi, a dish which is generally served rapidly.
After we were done with our food it took another good half an hour for us to receive the bill, the funny part was that after only one of us had paid for their meal (we were a group of four), the waitress left us to attend to other tables for another 20 minutes, before coming back to us, upon request, so that the rest of us could finish paying for our meal.
All in all we spent nearly 2 hours at that restaurant, maybe 30 minutes of which was actually spent eating.
Absolute disaster, would...
Read moreWalking past this place each evening I saw it jammed so I figured it was great. My experience wasn’t. I sat inside and there was no back to my stool. Very uncomfortable. Once seated, I was ignored or forgotten. Not sure which. Server stood chatting with a cook with her back to me until she turned to walk out of the restaurant and I got her attention. Really? Also, they didn’t take a credit card. Once I ordered the food came quickly. And it was beautiful looking. I wasn’t happy with the appetizer number three. I must’ve misunderstood it and I thought it was fresh rolls. It was fried. And small.. (I’m spoiled in the USA. They would’ve let me exchange it. ) I was looking at the photograph that was next to it on the menu and it was different. So I assume this was my mistake.
The next dish I got was in the photograph. Looks great. A bed of grilled vegetables with slices of chicken on top that were crispy. A big hunk of rice to the side and some nice tasting sauce. Not great but nice. Unfortunately, the chicken wasn’t cooked through. I left a significant amount of the food and I won’t be back. Going TOMORROW to their competitor down the street, which was amazing last night. (MIDO Vietnamese Appetizer, mango salad, and cosmopolitan for...
Read moreI didn’t expect there to be amazing Vietnamese food in the little town of Potsdam, but being from Vietnam, this food is the closest that I’ve had while backpacking through Europe that has been able to remind me of home. I got the Phở, the Fried Sushi Roll 1, and the Gebacken Hähnchen, and was shocked to find the food to be so authentic, especially better than my home in the United States. The noodles were just as fresh as Vietnam’s and the Phở broth was just as savory as it was tangy. The sushi rolls were fried to perfection, and the chefs didn’t overdo it on sauces like other places.
Not only was the food delightful, but the service was even better. Being from the U.S., it was nice being able to laugh in a conversation in my native language, but what amazed me more was how they were to do that with Potsdam locals in German. They are very attentive and caring. I hope you give this place a try - they...
