We were having a nice time and just commenting how overpriced everything was for Arabic food, until we found a piece of glass in a falafel…when we show it to the person in charge (possibly the owner) he started explaining that they are not making the falafel in the restaurant but taking it from somewhere else frozen and that we shouldn’t worry as this was just a “bad” one. He continued saying this hasn’t happened in 4 years! He didn’t offer to take the plate away, replace it or anything else just came back a bit later with a bowl of a smashed falafel and tried to convince us that it wasn’t possible to find a glass in there as it would have been crushed by the machine. So his idea was that the glass should have come from the bread…as this for some reason would make things better! Anyway, at the end he brought us the bill without taking away anything at all and when we refused to pay for the falafel dish he agreed quite easily while commenting that we still ate it. We explained that we spent the whole meal examining and crushing up our food to make sure there wasn’t...
Read moreDisappointing experience here. We were excited after reading the reviews but had another experience. When asked if the cold complimentary bread could be heated, they said no because they don't have an oven (but there is a microwave/stovetop). I got the beef stew. For €15, I would expect my rice to be not melted/mashed and cold on the inside (as if it was taken out of a freezer). The meat was hard and not easy to chew. The flavors, however, were good. In general, the dish seemed quite overpriced. The €3 something ayran was something that can be bought in the supermarket for €0.70 in terms of quantity and flavor. I'm surprised about the one € sign in the Google reviews. I'd expect to pay close to half of the price for something like that. After this experience, I'm sure there are better places...
Read moreDelightfully friendly, cosy and informal. The food here is not to be missed! The dishes are Middle Eastern/Eastern Mediterranean, including several options I’ve not seen elsewhere in Potsdam. It’s all very delicious and home-made fare. The place seems great for bringing friends to as there is something for everyone (including many vegetarian and vegan options). Also, it’s very reasonably priced. Looking forward to visiting...
