I have super mixed feelings about this place. Pros: Super friendly and polite staff. I voted 1 star for the speed of the service, definitely not for the service staff. They are all A class. Really nice food if you are into this type of food. Quite good portions with balanced taste. The name. I have a sweet spot for the name so I can't get too mad to this place.
But, after all these, why so low stars? Well, 1 main reason and some extras here and there. But the problem is, as Lightning McQueen says; "speed".
Cons: It takes ages for orders to be delivered. This was our 5th time in here and I think we had enough for a long time. If you are more than 2 person and asking for mantu, average waiting time is 1h. And "but we have so many people" can not be an excuse. If you have that much of chairs and tables, and you believe in your food then you should expect that amount of people. This can not be an excuse everytime. I think it is a bit overpriced. Not too much to hurt but definitely not a place for price/performance. Keep that in mind.
Weirds: No card payment. Only cash OR PayPal ?! The decoration and music. Trying to be authentic but if you are familiar with the cultures, you can hear the Turkish music and even Mevlana on the wall with some other Persian and a mixed symbols of the whole region. Interesting combination.
Tl;Dr: Great staff delivering great food in a weird mixed culture atmosphere from a veeeery slow kitchen and expecting you pay the bill which is a bit overpriced only with...
Read moreA world of delightful Middle Eastern / Afghan / Persian cuisine. Conveniently located in the center of Potsdam, just a stone's throw away from the Museum.
Menu offers an array of culinary delights, but the standout for me was the Samobosa for starters. It had just the right balance of flavors to whet your appetite for the main course. The Kababe Morgh, Rabeli Ba Gusht, and Gosphand Ba Anjir were absolute winners. Each dish was a symphony of authentic Afghan & Persian flavors, cooked to perfection and presented with finesse.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy and relaxing, with spectacular decor. There's also outdoor seating, making it a great spot to enjoy a sunny day in Potsdam.
The staff is friendly and attentive.
The prices are fair considering the high quality of food and service, ranging per person...
