Disappointing Experience: Subpar Service and Unpleasant Attitude …. Firstly, the service was extremely lacking. We placed our order and waited for an excruciatingly long time before our food was finally delivered, over 30 minutes past the expected time. Such a delay is unacceptable, especially considering that the restaurant was not particularly crowded. The lack of attention to timely service is indicative of a disregard for customer satisfaction.
Regrettably, the taste of the food was far from impressive. As an Indian, I have been fortunate enough to taste a wide variety of authentic Indian dishes, and I must say that the flavors at this restaurant fell short of expectations. The dishes lacked the depth, complexity, and freshness that one would typically associate with genuine Indian cuisine. There was a noticeable absence of balance in the spices and overall taste profile, resulting in a lackluster dining experience.
What added to my disappointment was the owner's disrespectful attitude towards our party. It appeared as though the owner took us for granted simply because we were fellow Indians. The male owner seemed uninterested and unattended towards our needs, yet he effortlessly managed to interact and engage with other customers. It was disheartening to witness such behavior from a fellow countryman, especially when one would expect a sense of warmth and familiarity.
I want to emphasize that this review is not a reflection of my personal bias or a desire to demean any particular individual. Rather, it is a genuine account of the unsatisfactory experience I encountered at this restaurant. As an alternative, I would highly recommend other authentic Indian restaurants in Munich that prioritize customer service and deliver delectable, true-to-Indian-taste dishes.
In conclusion, my visit to this Indian restaurant was marred by disappointing service, subpar food, and an overall sense of being taken for granted. I sincerely hope that the management takes this review constructively and works towards improving the quality of their offerings and...
Read moreI am Indian and this is an Indian restaurant. I will be honest, the 1 star I gave is for good service of the staff, it's not for the food. My friend who is vegan and highly lactose intolerant (remember, Indian cuisine is a vegan paradise ) ordered vegetarian biryani and specially asked to remove paneer from it stating that she is vegan. The dish that arrived looked like khichdi or a rice porridge- mushy , over cooked rice soaked in some curry. If you are Indian, or Bangladeshi or Pakistani, you know by now that no kind of biryani is a mushy curried rice ! Next the curry they used tasted like the curry we use for "malai kofta or malai paneer " kind of dishes. Malai means cream . My friend fell sick , threw up minutes after walking out of the restaurant. I ordered "bhindi lamb" which had the same curry as malai kofta which is fine but the bhindi or okras in the curry were cooked in full , as in the hard tops of the okra were not cut off. I was pretty surprised because a German or European customer may not know that you must not eat that part ! I asked their staff, and received the reply that some people apparently love it. But I don't know who are these people . I have grown up eating okras several ways and from what I know, you don't serve your family and definitely not your guests okras with the top on it, because it's chewy, hard , fibrous and basically inedible like the tops of the eggplants ! Taj Mahal was highly recommended by our German colleagues and we clearly saw from the German majority crowd at the restaurant that the place is pretty popular but its very disheartening to see what kind of food is being served as "Indian food" at the place . Basically one kind of curry base served several ways killing authenticities. By the way, both of us ended with a bad stomach after coming back. They might have better dishes, the naans served on other tables looked good , but I don't think we can recommend...
Read moreThe best Indian restaurant I've ever had by far in Europe (Between Switzerland, Germany and England), I mean "Indian" restaurant, not include other nearby regions like Bangladesh or Nepal. We asked them to cook us the hot level they (the Indians staff) ate. The food was so spicy hot but didn't spoilt the taste but compliment so well with each dish. Unlike many Indian restaurants, all the dishes have similar flavour and can be boring even share between. Here, each dishes have its distinct flavour and taste and aroma. One of the naan bread we had was very burn, but the second one came out good, and absolutely tasty. We have 60, 62, and 63 lamb dishes and chicken vindaloo. The tender aroma beautifully cooked lamb and succulent chicken pieces with soft but not breakaway potatoes, heaven. The dishes I ordered and I won't recommend here are the papodums (very oily and mango chutney was so so) and the sweet milk ball desserts (really tasteless other than sweet, can't even taste what's in there). The chai tea was really nice and fragrance, can try it if you like...
