Captain‘s Schnitzel - Warnemünde — Restaurant in Rostock

Honestly, for a restaurant that is specialized on Schnitzel I found it to be fairly disappointing.

Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad or anything. It's just that I could have prepared a better Schnitzel at home. The meat was decent, tender but not much seasoned (that's subjective though, so no real criticism here). The breading of the cutlet on the other hand was not so good (you could see the Schnitzel wasn't souffléd, i.e. in tossed in a pan with butter such that the breading rises, creating these marvelous bubbles between breading and meat cutlet).

Additionally, I got the mushroom & cream side, which tasted like convenience food. Just horrible, sorry, I felt bad after eating that.

I hope the other types of Schnitzel are better prepared and the other sides are good. My experience so far was rather disappointing like I mentioned.

The restaurant is excellent and offers a great opportunity to enjoy traditional German Schnitzel . However, I wouldn’t recommend it for vegans, as the menu is heavily focused on dishes like schnitzel, which are typically not vegan-friendly. There are only a few (around three) vegan options, and they don’t quite match the quality of the main dishes(for experience before). We made a reservation for 9:30 online. We were not informed at all on the website that we could not eat, only drink. We arrived at the restaurant and we were told we could not order food. This means we could not eat dinner at all as nowhere else was available.
