We came in late (after the highly recommended night watchman tour) and very near closing time. Vito welcomed us himself and swiftly moved us in (a bit of initial hesitation by the greeter, but Vito stepped in!). Because it was really late, our options were pizza and salad. Based on this experience, we will come back to try pasta and we recommend the place.
Vito is working hard on this place and making sure you get the right service and the right food delivered to you.
The ambience is casual, we saw families, groups of friends and a couple on a date. It is a place for locals for sure. Plenty of options for cocktails, beer and wine.
On to the food- my favorite was the ham and truffle pizza, dough was thin, perfect texture and delicious. The ham is shaved and it blends perfectly to let the truffle be the star of the pie without overtaking the whole thing. The spicy sausage pizza was also very tasty, and the salad was a very decent size to share one for 4 adults (you have to get veggies).
Give Vito a shot, after all those wursts, you want to have some italian dishes to give your palate a nice treat. And...
Read moreWe waited out with our little dog - almost unsure if we could go in with him. The wonderful person came out and when I asked âI guess we canât go in with our dogâ, he warmly and coolly (at the same time) answered âyes you can, even with much bigger dogsâ. We were seated at a lovely window table. Both the service and the food were exceptional. We asked if the fish is breaded, and the waiter understood that thatâs what we didnât want and he proactively offered to request the kitchen to cook it without flour. The food (fish and pizza) was so delicious - köstlich as the Germans say it! And orgasmic as we say it! đ And of course our little guy got a lovely bowl of water right in the beginning. They were just wonderful - such a chilled vibe paired with such delicious food can be an anomaly in some places but they live it with ease at Vito. I veto all other restaurants in favor of Vito. (Ok sorry for this terrible pun, but delight makes you go a little crazy) đ Grazie Mille! Canât wait to be back in Rothenburg just so we can enjoy your impeccable food and...
Read moreWe came here as a walk in for dinner around 7pm and were welcomed by a polite and friendly waitress. The restaurant was quiet, with just one or two other tables. We were in the mood for Italian and ordered the lasagne and linguine, along with a cheese and meat board. The lasagne arrived way too hot and it felt a bit reheated and overly cheesy, with very little meat - more comforting than good quality, and not quite the standard Iâd hoped for. The linguine was better, though still fairly average compared to other Italian meals weâve had. The cheese and meat board was a mixed experience... the core ingredients (meats, cheeses) were fresh and paired well with the wine, but a few of the other items felt random and didnât quite fit. Pricing was fair, although not cheap, but not expensive either. Overall, the service and effort were there, but the food didnât quite meet expectations. Perhaps weâre a little fussy, but it didnât quite...
