Restaurant Goldenes Lamm — Restaurant in Rothenburg ob der Tauber

If I could give 6/5 stars, I would! Goldenes Lammes in Rothenburg is hands-down the best restaurant I’ve ever been to in Germany. I spent Christmas dinner here, and it was absolutely perfect. The roast beef was insanely good and the cheese pancakes were so creamy and well seasoned. They even let me switch out the spätzle for roast potatoes and gave me more fried onions when I asked for them with a huge smile on their face!

The vibe is so cozy and rustic, and the staff were SO nice. They were so accomodating even when changed my reservation twice.

The apple struedel with ice cream and whipped cream was absolutely delicious and divine - not too sweet or tarty!

The portions for everything are huge, the prices are super reasonable, and honestly, I’d save up just to go back again.

Lastly, they were open all day on Christmas, which was amazing because literally everywhere else was closed. And even after that, the place was still packed for a reason. If you’re ever in Rothenburg, you HAVE to go. Best meal, best vibes, best everything. 1000%...

I have left a review on Trip Advisor about the Management "rip off" where a charge is made for any slight amendment to a meal when ordered. I do not like spatzle or most pastas so asked if I could have the bratkartoffle instead as it was available with other meals....waitress said that was OK but when I finally asked for the bill I found that an extra charge was made even though no difference in meal content price.....I should have been told and it should also be shown on the menu that a charge is made. Apparently we were told that when two people wish to share a meal(not uncommon) that there is also a similar charge for an additional plate.....never heard of such charges in any other establishment. It seems as though the owners don't care about such matters as this is in a tourist area with changing clients.....we have visited area pre iosly and will be back again BUT WILL NOT O PATRONISE such an establishment who clearly RIP YOU OFF Food and drinks also over priced for the quality...

We went to eat here when we arrived at Rothenburg ob der Tauber. It was one of the few restaurants still working at that time and we were hesitant to go because of the low reviews. But I’m glad we went as in the end it was the best food we had here during our entire stay. We had a nice breakfast at some other restaurant but for the main course this was the best we had. Why, because compared to the price and taste of the food and what you get, it definitely is the best balance. They have Landwehr-Bräu Hell on tap. I really enjoyed that beer during our stay. We had pork knuckle with potato dumplings and veggie-sausage dumplings with salad. It was nicely done,heartwarming. We waited for our food for around 20min and had our beer till we waited.
