China Restaurant — Restaurant in Saarbrücken

The food was okay but nothing that was special. The service was terrible. We waited nearly 30 minutes for them to ask us for drinks. Then another 15 minutes just for them to tell us they were out if 2 of the four drinks we asked for. An hour later we finally got our drinks.

1 hour and a half later the food started arriving. There was no order to the good being brought. The rice that accompanied the main dished came 30 minutes after the main dish. My order never came out so instead of being able to eat with my family I took the order to go.

The restaurant was a bit dirty and the bathrooms are in need of a deep cleaning. They sat us next to an empty fish tank. Which was also very dirty.

The people sitting next to us came in 20 minutes after us. But their table was setup immediately with everything they needed. They also happened to be Chinese. We couldn't help but notice the difference in the level of service. As the waitress attended to them often.

I have never been to a restaurant like this place. They had zero customer service skills.

I will never ever go back. If you are looking for terrible service and basic Chinese food then have at it. But if you are looking for a nice time with family with delicious Chinese food and good service DO...

One of the 2 worst restaurants I've been to - ever. We were 4 people. First we waited at least half an hour before somebody came to take our orders. Meanwhile 4 chinese customers, who came AFTER us, were served as soon as they sat down and had their food even before our drinks came. After that, we waited another 45(!) minutes till the first meal arrived (yes only one meal came). 2 people in our group had to wait up to 15 minutes longer. And 1 meal didn't come at all and we had to ASK for it. They also forgot to bring rice and messed the order up. Taste: Mediocre, to say the least. The Peking soup tasted like it had been made 2 weeks ago and a bottle of ketchup fell into it. And my chicken chop-suey tasted like a plain veggy soup made with only a bouillon cube. Conclusion: In the same time I could've cooked it myself and it would've tasted better. They could've offered us at least one free meal (like the one that came so late we took it to go, cause the person didn't feel hungry anymore) or a free drink or whatever for the delay, but they didn't even notice. We'll never...

Ich war am Sonntag den 13.10.2024 zum ersten Mal hier und möchte einige Eindrücke und Impulse mit den Lesern teilen. Allem voran möchte ich den Service in den Mittelpunkt stellen, der nahezu göttlich war. So viel Freundlichkeit und Zugewandtheit trotz widerer Umstände, habe ich noch nie erlebt.

Doch der Reihe nach. Wir kamen Sonntag gegen 19:00 Uhr in das fast ausgebuchte Lokal und der Gastgeber sagte uns sofort vorab, dass es mit dem Essen heute lange dauern wird. Wir waren mit dem Umstand einverstanden, denn das Lokal wirkte "Urig" und "Echt".

Doch erst zu den reinen Fakten, die zukünftige Besucher dienen sollen:

ESSEN UND SERVICE Das Servieren der Getränke dauerte 20 Minuten Das Servieren der Speisen dauerte 60 Minuten Das Essen war sehr gut und völlig anders als üblich

ZUM AMBIENTE Ja, es löste sich an der Decke teilweise Tapete und die Dekoration hat ihre besten Zeiten hinter sich, doch genau dieser Charme hat es in sich. Ich fühlte mich in meine Kindheit zurück versetzt, wo ich als 6 jähriger im Bauernhof meiner Oma in Galizien saß und das raue als auch ehrliche Landleben meiner Großeltern genoß. In einer so schnelllebigen Zeit, in der es oftmals um schneller, höher, weiter geht, habe ich dieses Lokal als ein Ort empfunden, indem Tradition auf Einfachheit trifft und wo Authentizität zuhause ist. Einzig die Toiletten sollten unbedingt mal modernisiert werden, denn das ist gerne Luft nach oben möglich und nötig.

BEMERKENSWERT Im Essen von meinem Sohn hatte sich sogar ein kleiner Fremdkörper verirrt, was ich als menschlich empfinde und wofür sich der Gastgeber mehrfach entschuldigte als auch unsere Kostennote dafür senkte.

Unterm Strich hätte ich sicherlich das Recht gehabt, in meiner Rezension den einen oder anderen Stern zu kürzen, doch ich möchte bei meiner gewissenhaften Bewertung die positiven Eindrücke siegen lassen, denn das junge Team vor Ort hat es mit längen verdient.

FAZIT Ich empfehle dieses Lokal zu probieren und bin mir sicher, dass es ein Erlebnis wert ist, diese traditionelle Küche zu kosten. Zwischendurch kam ich mir vor, wie wenn ich in Asien wäre und keineswegs in europäischen Breitengraden. Genau diesen Umstand empfinde ich als bemerkenswert.
