Stube 8 - Saarbrücken — Restaurant in Saarbrücken

A friend recommended this bar for its live jazz on Monday nights, so we decided to check it out. We found an empty table, and I went to the bar to order drinks. Despite being the only person standing there, I was completely ignored by the bartender for nearly 6–7 minutes.

He wasn’t busy serving others — instead, he aimlessly washed cups, rearranged menus, and even stopped to watch the band, all while pretending not to see me. I tried waving and even shout “Hallo” but it was loud, after few mins he still refused to acknowledge me. At that point, it was clear this was deliberate, so we walked out.

It’s worth noting that I seemed to be the only non-white person in the bar.

What makes it worse: only seconds after I left, another German customer stood exactly where I had been and was served immediately. Later, when I shared this story with another foreign friend, he described the same bartender and told me he had also been mistreated there.

I’ve been living in Germany for five years, and this is the first time I’ve felt discriminated against in such a way. This was an extremely unpleasant experience, and I would not...

It is one of my favorite bars in Saarbrücken. The cocktails are good and not that expensive. If you just started playing 8 ball pool, I recommend this place. You pay 1€ for each game but there are some wired rules like you need to put the eight at the opposite of the hole you put your last ball in etc. the vibe is chill and people...

Bis gestern war ich oft in dieser Bar. Gestern spielten wir Billard, alles war gut, dann sagte die Bardame, wir könnten nicht mehr spielen und rollte alle unsere Kugeln ohne Erlaubnis. Als wir fragten, warum wir nicht spielen konnten, sagte sie, dass sie um 12 Uhr schließen, aber es war bereits 2 Uhr morgens und es waren Leute im Ort, und die Bar selbst arbeitet bis 3 Uhr morgens. Als wir ihr das sagten, nannte sie bereits einen anderen Grund, nämlich dass wir unseren Alkohol in der Bar trinken würden. Als ich ihr sagte, dass ich keinen Alkohol trinke, sagte sie, das sei ihr egal.
