Quadrato — Restaurant in Schwetzingen

I had lunch here today with my family. When we first went in, it was quite crowded, some large tables were there, so we were already not expecting the quickest service. Our waiter was impatient and inattentive. He first came to note our drinks 10 mins after our arrival, we told him we were also ready to order our food, he told us he would come later. He came another 10 minutes later, it can’t be said he was rude, but you could tell from his face that he was annoyed, so we didn’t feel welcomed in any way. We waited around 50 minutes for our food to arrive, and when it did, we were extremely unimpressed to say the least. The fish was okay, it was cold, one of them was undercooked, but it didn’t taste bad. The pizza was a disaster. Coming into the restaurant I smelled a delicious pizza and was convinced I should order some as well. When mine arrived, it was cold, so I sent it back to be put in the oven again. When it came back, the taste was horrible. Without exaggeration or consideration, I can say it was by far the worst pizza I’ve ever had. It had zero flavour, had very little cheese, it was just not a good experience. I hate to say this about food, but it tasted more like dishwater than actual edible food. And getting a simple dish like a pizza wrong in an Italian restaurant is unacceptable. I would much rather eat supermarket frozen pizza as that is much more tasty than whatever this dish I was served was. Moving on, when we asked for the bill, the waiter forgot, we had to ask 3 times again so that we could finally leave the restaurant. I had high hopes coming into the restaurant, seeing as it was full of people, however I will not be coming back. It was a terrible experience, I could not...

Wir hatten uns auf einen schönen Abend mit Freunden in diesem italienischen Restaurant gefreut. Leider verlief der Abend alles andere als angenehm.

Ich bestellte eine Pizza mit Salami, Schinken und Knoblauch. Als diese serviert wurde, war sie jedoch stark in Öl getränkt. Ohne einen Bissen zu nehmen, sprach ich die Servicekraft darauf an. Er erklärte, dass es sich um „Salami-Öl“ handle – eine Begründung, die mir bisher unbekannt war. Trotzdem bestand ich auf eine neue Pizza, die dann mit deutlichem Widerwillen gebracht wurde. Zu meinem Erstaunen enthielt sie diesmal scharfe Salami und einen Käse, der geschmacklich schwer genießbar war, sodass ich fast die Hälfte stehen ließ.

Eine Pizza eines Freundes war zudem mit teilweise rohen Meeresfrüchten belegt – ebenfalls alles andere als appetitlich.

Beim Bezahlen wurde es dann leider noch unangenehmer. Ich beglich die Rechnung mit Karte, wobei mir vom Servicepersonal lediglich der Gesamtbetrag genannt wurde, ohne Einzelauflistung. Später kam die Servicekraft erneut an unseren Tisch und behauptete, die Vorspeise sei nicht bezahlt worden. Da mir beim Bezahlvorgang keine detaillierte Übersicht vorlag, hatte ich dies zunächst nicht bemerkt.

Ich bot ihm daraufhin meine Karte erneut an, doch nun hieß es, Kartenzahlung sei erst ab 20 € möglich. Stattdessen sollte ich einen Ausweis als Pfand hinterlegen und Bargeld holen. Alternativ schlug ich vor, die Zahlung komplett zu stornieren, die Vorspeise hinzuzufügen und den gesamten Betrag erneut zu begleichen. Diese Lösung wurde jedoch abgelehnt. Der Chef war auf Nachfrage angeblich nicht zu sprechen.

Die Situation eskalierte weiter, als die Servicekraft schließlich behauptete, er wisse, wo ich wohne und werde sich das Geld holen. Er forderte mich schließlich auf, das Restaurant zu verlassen, bevor er „eskaliert“.

Diesen Vorfall werde ich der Geschäftsführung der Quadrato Gastro GmbH schildern. Ich kann nur dringend davon abraten, dieses Restaurant...

Sunday, 04.06.2023, cca 15:00, only 3 tables occupied: Pizza took almost an hour to arrive, which is understandable given that it comes burned through and with already grown hair… When nicely asked for the bill for the second time in 10 minutes, the waitress was so unpolite, you’d think we asked her to pay for our meals, not to barely do her job. We were hungry and late, so we ate what we got and left. On a positive note, only 2 of us got an indigestion- carbonized pizza...
