Ragazzi was a bit of a roller coaster for my partner and I. Our date night started in excitement for our newest pizza adventure. They've got a diverse menu of pizzas which we both appreciated. Their pies come out looking absolutely stunning, and the effort they put into aging the dough for two days is noticeably well done. Let me walk you through my experience with the A' Nonna.
The crust has excellent flavor and a nice crumb structure. The char on the bottom brings in balancing bitter notes. However, the bottom was entirely flimsy. The moment you pick up a slice, the toppings slide onto the plate quicker than an Olympic skier.
The cheese and tomato sauce were great, but neither stood out as particularly exceptional to me. I do admit that my palate usually takes a pass/fail approach when it comes to tomato sauce and mozzarella. I'm not yet able to notice gradation, I suspect that I need some serious taste tests to train my senses for this.
The pancetta provided the crispiness that the crust lacked. The pepperoni cream had a unique flavor that complimented the pizza very well. Unfortunately, the ricotta cream was underwhelming. It left me wanting regular ricotta.
My followers can attest that I'm not afraid to drop some serious cash for good food, but 19 euro for a pizza that doesn't have a crispy bottom is a bit too steep. Indeed, the whole restaurant is pricey. The romantic date night I had with Ines ended up being 72 euro for two pizzas, a couple drinks, the tip, plus a tiramisu. Which is the saving grace here, the tiramisu is absolutely a 5/5. The rich and firm cream makes it top two.
We ended up leaving disappointed that we paid a premium price for a crust that wasn't crispy. However, after some time to cool down, I realized that I may return for another try in the future, and certainly for that tiramisu.
My final rating, "Ragazzi provides great flavors and invests in the quality of their product to bring a piece of Italy to Stuttgart (which is sorely missing in many pizzerias around here). However, the flimsy bottom combined with the price leaves room for...
Read moreThe pizza and the toppings quality are really good, you can see they put some work on the dough fermentation. It is typical Neapolitan style, so the base remains a bit undercooked at the bottom, which I do not love so much, but that’s a matter of taste.
The reason why I gave four stars it’s because honestly the place just feels like a constant rip off! The prices are just ridiculously high (probably the highest I have ever seen for a pizza, even at gourmet pizza places - and I have been living in Munich and Stuttgart for almost 7 years)! 15 € for a margherita it’s just too much, it’s at least 3-4 € more expensive than other gourmet pizza shop I tried (and I tried many 😁), plus they “suggest” you to order a burrata on top, which costs 7 € (also insane), so for a more complex pizza with burrata you can end up spending almost 30 € for the pizza alone!!! That’s just un-heard of, at least in Europe!
IF they reduce the prices to normal (I am not expecting cheap, but they could easily remove 3-4 € from every pizza) I would go back, but with this prices it is...

🍕 𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗥𝗔 𝗠𝗜𝗔 💸€17.40 Yellow San Marzano Tomato 🍅, Agerola Fior di Latte, Pancetta, Stracciatella, salted almonds, truffle cream, olive oil 🫒 and basil 🌿 ✅ IN-CRE-DI-BLE, I died 🫠 The ultra chewy and stretchy Neapolitan dough, fermented for 48 hours, super light and fluffy, 10/10 quality ingredients💯, very balanced flavors between the powerful truffle, the salty pancetta, the sour tomato.
HIGHLY recommend - among my favourite all time pizzas 🍕
⚠️ however, it must be one of the most expensive pizzas I’ve ever had so I only ordered one 🥲 I had 4 more days of travel ahead of me so some sacrifices had to be made 💔
