I came here recently with my partner. We took a chance despite the rating being a 3.8 at the time. We got dumplings to share, bimbimbap and a seafood pancake. The dumplings didn't seem homemade. We were given the dumplings in their dish, my partner had chopsticks for their dish, and I had a fork and knife. We didn't get any small plates to eat the appetizer on (other tables appeared to receive plates). We had difficulty flagging down the waitstaff to get plates or another pair of chopsticks (it was very difficult to eat them with a fork without ripping the dumpling), we ended up with one person eating over the dish and the other eating over nothing and trying not to make a mess. The banchan was surprising, the middle pickle element had three small pieces (see photo), we were very taken aback by the amount. It tasted ok. The bimbimbap wasn't very flavorful but was ok enough to be edible. The seafood pancake (a dish that I have enjoyed at many other restaurants) felt doughy and was difficult to eat. We were there on a very hot day and the restaurant was not well ventilated. We were a bit uncomfortable with the heat so partway through we asked to get the check and take the leftovers. I guess they only have those very small paper boxes (and maybe they were running out of the boxes?), because for each meal they packaged up less than half of what we had. The seafood pancake was just shoved into the box. We both had upset stomachs afterward. It was sad to spend >50 eur on such a disappointing meal, but at least now we know to never come here again :/

My friend and I came here specifically to try their fried chicken, but unfortunately, they don’t serve it on this Saturday. So instead, we ordered the tteokbokki, kimchi pancake, bibimbap, and squid rice. Sadly, none of the dishes matched our expectations or taste preferences. The staff didn’t inform us beforehand that the fish cakes in the tteokbokki were missing due to transportation issues. Although they added more tteokbokki to compensate, the portion was still very small. We ended up returning the dish (thanks to the staff for understanding). The clam in kimchi pancake had a very unpleasant clam taste — quite fishy and off-putting. The rest of the dish and the sauce were okay. My friend thought the bibimbap was very mediocre — the rice lacked fragrance, and the crispy elements weren’t crispy at all. Just not enjoyable. As for my squid rice, it was a total disaster. The menu showed crispy squid rings on rice, but what I got were stiff squid strips. To make matters worse, after eating, both my friend and I experienced allergic reactions — my arm and their lower back started itching and swelling. Other than the complimentary kimchi before the meal and two soft drinks, I would not recommend this place at all. Very disappointing experience.

This is THE BEST and the most authentic Korean food you can get in Stuttgart. It did take some moths to get on the right track but nowadays all what they do or offer is amazing. COME AND TRY! Soban has all you may crave for when it comes to Korean food: Tteokbokki (떡볶이), two types of Korean pancakes - jeon (전), countless types of stews - jjigae (찌개), ramyeon (라면) or you can simply enjoy a variety of fried chicken with German or Korean beer (치맥) or a bottle of cold soju (소주). The waitresses are super nice (some of them speak Korean), polite and fast and I really enjoy the open kitchen concept as well where you can see (the nicest Korean) chefs preparing your food with fresh ingredients and super fast (빨리). Don’t expect a white cloth tables but if you’ve ever been to Korea, you must now by now that simple setting, quick and tasty food to share in a group is what creates the real vibe - and this is what Soban is about. I will be coming soon again💕
