Loctated in a former prison in the northeast side of Ulm, there is lots to like about its unique sense of style. We came in winter, so the only tables available were inside but there are also cozy looking places outside for the summertime. A look at the menu reveals lots of options for their available tapas. Fans of mediterranean cuisine will find a lot of familiar dishes and a lot to like right from the start. The problems begin to appear once the food is served. The quality of the dishes is overall fair, but we felt that nothing we ordered came close to the quality one would expect. We had boquerones, and they tasted old and stale. We had to drown them in lemon to make them enjoyable. The tortilla was overall fine, but the portion even for tapas sizes pretty small. We also ordered iberico carree, which tasted very good, but was laughably tiny for the asking price. The chorizo in wine sauce ended up rather sour. Nothing was in any way exceptionally bad, but the problem is that the quality of the dishes do not justify their asking price. The service is fine. On par with german standards. We did, however, have some problems with our reservation, because we booked a table online two days ahead, but they were not able to confirm our request in time so we had to call them. They ensured us it would work, but on the day of our reservation we received an email that our reservation was cancelled. That was not the case but the whole process was very confusing and not very professional.

This beautiful Portuguese meets Spanish food restaurant, is a well kept secret, hidden away at the back of a carpark and in the basement of what used to be a prison. 🇵🇹🇪🇸 I finally tried Adega and let my photos do the talking. I’m sure you’re salivating just looking at the spread. The restaurant has a divine cozy atmosphere, amazing vibes and delicious food. We opted to try a variety of their fusion tapas both from their seasonal and a la carte menu. The wine was also a lovely accompaniment to our smorgasbord of Tapas. 🍷 I’m sure that their beer garden would work a treat on warmer days with a nice jug of Sangria or three. ☀️🍊 …………. If you ate & enjoyed your experience at ADEGA after reading my review, give this review a thumbs up, i’d love to know 👍🏆 Thank you 🙏

“I wouldn’t have believed a new menu could be an improvement, but this one absolutely is. It completely outshines the previous restaurant, Adega. The dishes are phenomenal, the sauces are exceptional, and the service and ambiance create the perfect setting for a special dinner with loved ones. Highly recommend, and I’ll definitely be back soon.”

Soweit, so gut.
