Start with the positive: The Ambiente (we sat outside) is really nice. There is enough space between the tables too not feel constricted. The service was also quite nice and waiters were polite.
Food: I've been there twice and was already disappoinent by the food the first time but I thought I give it a 2nd try. First time was a beef burger and 2nd time I had the vegan patty (I tried the beef burger from friends too). The vegan patty is more expensive than the beef patty even though it's not with expensive meat substitutes but rather with peas and beetroot. What does that say about the meat? The patty itself was tasty but it didn't hold it's shape so it was more like a mixture put on bred rather than a patty. The wedges were quite good.
Now about the beef burger. The 1st time I've been there it tasted like the patty has been frozen before and it was not really medium but through. Also it was way too strongly pressed and not juicy. The 2nd time the taste was better (not like it was frozen before) but the patty was also too strongly pressed before roasting. A burger restaurant should really know how strongly you have to press the patties...
Would have given it three stars but it is also rather expensive for what you get.
Consider an additional vegan option without extra cost! (e.g. falafel) and learn how strongly you have to press the meat in order to keep it juicy and medium. Than your rating will...
Read moreBest-tasting burgers on the Bodensee! We visited the DOM Sunday morning at 11:45, and there was lots of room inside to sit. It was dark and cool, with pleasant music in the background. There were a couple of families with small well-behaved children, and groups of young adults. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door, and the wait staff were friendly (but three different waiters brought things to our table or cleared away cutlery and plates- !?). After a mint tea, I had a burger with plenty of bacon and egg on it. There were also three fat slices of green pepper on it, which I took out and ate as a veg + dip with the sauce that dripped out of my burger. It was delightfully juicy, and all the more a treat because I seldom eat burgers. The french fries stayed nicely warm in the special ceramic cup - no need to decide whether to eat the fries or burger fist, before they cool. Next time I'll ask for either grilled veg or a salad instead of french fries, the sauce on the side, and I would have liked the sour cream pure. My delicious coffee was almost forgotten, and the prices are reasonable. We'll be back, the next time a burger...
Read moreThe food was good (I love the freaky turkey salad!) and the atmosphere in there is nice however I was surprised at having to pay extra for having prosecco in my Aperol Spritz!? 🤔 An Aperol Spritz is always made with prosecco not white wine!? I ordered the drink, received a strange tasting Aperol, questioned the waiter who confirmed it was made with white wine so I returned the drink and asked him to make it with the usual ingredients of Aperol, Sekt & water only to find when paying that i was then charged €6.90 instead of the advertised rate on menu of €5.50 for an Aperol Spritz!? DOM KONSTANZ an Aperol Spritz is always made with prosecco, if you're going to change the ingredients, you need to call the drink...
