MAMAS KIMCHI — Restaurant in Wuppertal

Absolutely the best of the best, 5/5 stars. Great venue, food, service and environment. MAMAS KIMCHI is a small and charming little Korean restaurant (family owned?) that offers true authentic flavors, dishes and love from South Korea. You are immediately met with a feeling of comfort and tranquility once you enter, as well with a friendly facing taking you to your table. Food comes quick, is warm, packed to the brim with flavors, aromas and lovely senses and smells and it fills you up to the perfect amount. We went for their Bi Bim Bap and glass noodles and veggies dishes as well as mochi and mochi ice cream for dessert, as well as barely tea to enjoy it all with. All in all a phenomenal experience and visit and we will without doubt return as the food and service cannot get any better. I am no expert in Korean cuisine but I have tried several Korean-run restaurants in Düsseldorf. Mamas Kimchi offers a simple menu with 1 starter (Kimchi) and about 8 main dish options, some vegetarian alternativas as well as pork, beef and chicken. In addition you can choose about 4 daily changing menu options updated on the blackboard. For dessert you can select from 3 Korean desserts. We tried the vegetarian rice and a soup with some "ravioli"-style dumplings. Both were fine. What I found neat was the wider selection of Korean bottled drinks, which you May wish to try. The staff was really nice, the place itself is simple looking but very cosy, we enjoyed the atmosphere. When we came during lunch hours the place was empty but filled up really quickly, more than a half of the tables were taken.
