Stamna — Restaurant in Argostoli Municipality

This place looked promising and traditional. We only wanted a snack so ordered gavros, tzatziki and some wine. The gavros was just about acceptable but came on a bed of fries that looked as though they were yesterday’s leftovers. We mentioned the desiccated food when we came to pay but the proprietor was unapologetic and said ‘it wasn’t his’. I don’t know what that meant but presumed he’d outsourced it from somewhere. In any event he seemed unconcerned at our poor experience and still charged the full amount. I couldn’t be bothered with argument over a relatively small amount but was appalled by the attitude as well as the quality. I’m afraid this was our worse meal ever in Kefalonia. One meal had to be sent back as was cold - chicken gyros, and mousakka was at best very bland. Very poor service, no apology for cold food, no check to see if everything was okay and final straw was when I went to pay they tried to short change me. I have worked in the hospitality industry and mistakes happen, but they didn’t own it and didn’t care. We saw others food going back too. Please avoid this place and try somewhere else. One good point which is the 4 stars for atmosphere - amazing views, but there are lots of other places...

At the end of a long day of walking in Argostoli and Lassie, we ended the evening with a light meal on the waterfront near the famous bridge of Argostoli.
