Four of us visited on the 05/04/2018. The food was truely exclellent and the service likewise. The place has a very cosy and homey feeling. The menue has traditional Greek dishes with a modern touch. The cook joined our table to give explanation to the dishes. We tried several dishes, e.g.cheesy tarhana balls, meattballs with orzo pasta, mussles saganaki, lagoto. All of them were extremely delicious. After finishing with the main disshes we were completely full, hence we did not ask for deserts. Nonetheless, the cook brought us deserts to sample free of charge. These deserts were real treats, in particular, the halva mousse and a cream with rose water and pistachio. The food is excellent value for money. We have been traveling for 8 days this time and ate in restaurants every day. Everywhere we got good food and service, but so far this place was the definitively the best. I definitively recommend for anybdy who wants to try modern greek...
Read moreThe waiter had an attitude problem, the food was good but the waiter was very disrespectful. We sat down and told him that the rest of our group would be late and ordered a taramosalata. After 10’ we got informed that the rest of us would be a bit more late and asked him if he can bring us a menu for us to order some appetisers, he then proceeded to say “No, I won’t bring out plates one by one.” When the rest of the group came he made comments about them being late and was very sarcastic for the whole time and asked our group why they were late. In the end when one of us went to pay and tried to be discreet from the rest of us and went up to the cashier he started saying that he can’t be bothered to be paid. Then proceeded to say you can either pay cash or card with cash being 20€ less...
Read moreFriendly, practically homey, excellent value for money, and just wonderful food. I’m pretty traditional about Greek cooking, and rarely appreciate a twist on it, but here I had no fault to find. Fresh, seasonal, and sourced with love and understanding from small producers - perfectly cooked with a delicate touch by one of those chefs whose hands are blessed with whatever it is that makes the very good excellent. Subtly spiced, everything the freshest and best.
Quite literally some of the best food I’ve ever had, and the warmth and conviviality of the owners - a married couple, Elisavet in the kitchen and Xenophon front of house, made it even better.
I did take photos, but as they don’t do it justice, I didn’t post them. Just go eat at Volta, and...
