BOUGATSA SAVVAS — Restaurant in Athens

This place is the place. Till I won't find a better bougatsa place, I would declare that's the best authentic bougatsa in Athens y'all.

Context : I'm Italian (so you know we love cooking and quality) and I tried Bougatsa from Serres.

Why only 4 stars? This place has amazing bougatsa (didn't even try the other pies) and coffee, only for these 2 items, I would give 4 stars already, but I could give the fifth star only when they will change their menu layout and pricing method. You heard me right. Don't get me wrong it's not for the price(iced latte with stevia super sweet with almond milk+cream chocolate cinnamon bougatsa=5.60 euro), but I simply do not understand why they would weight a bougatsa piece (prices for sweet pies go by kg). This doesn't make sense, because a potential customer, enters your store and you weight a piece for what? Does it mean you cut a bigger piece one day and I get to pay more? Just make a price by piece hahaha.. ...it's faster for everyone, for the business owner, for me as a customer and it gives customers the peace of mind you are not overcharging them.

Anyways, when they will improve this little thing, I will change the review to 5 stars. Overall, I'm so glad I get to live permanently in Exarcheia so I will visit more often and bring all my friends.

We visited this place on a Saturday morning. Even though it was only 9 o’clock, some of the products were already sold out and new ones were being prepared. We ordered tiropita (cheese pie) spanakotiropita (spinach-cheese pie) and bougatsa. All of them were perfectly fresh, warm and crispy; and they tasted really good. (I remembered to take the photos after taking one bite from tiropita, that’s the reason it looks like it’s missing a piece.) We enjoyed them with a latte and an americano. The coffee was good enough.
