It not a big and need one good cleaning to be more bright. It have planty talented actors. But I expect more classical way to show the great original. For example, directly for me interpretation of Shakespeare was too modern and great meaning was put down by flat sexual moving of actors. Anyway, my recommendation firstly read at what interpretation it will be and after go (mostly with children, who better to grow on more original version). Actors are pure talented and place is beautiful and not a big. What to see deside by yourself

My favorite theater in Athens. The building is amazing and the time you spend there always with hight quality. The area is not that safe but it worth it. Take the metro and choose omonia metro station. It is like 2’ walking from there. Do not hesitate to take an outside photo and of course to enjoy any event, just to realize the unique feeling. Sometimes there are offers on the tickets.

A great neoclassical building that houses exceptional quality performances. The construction of the building was started in 1891 and completed a few years later. It was designed by the architect Ernst Ziller and the facade of the building was inspired by the Hadrian's Library. Tickets are inexpensive and definitely deserves a visit. The majority of the plays have English subtitles.

A nice sample of early 20th century architecture. Unfortunately as a living organisation has to recover a lot from the chock nowdays suffering Greek theatrical scene is passing through. It's very disappointing to realise that supporting personnel have lost the spiritual mentality of a theatrical institution must be characterized. Accidental bad incidents do happen, a profound indication that sensitivity has been permanently lost from Greek's main scene. A good time distance from the performance seems to be the...

We went for Ghete Faust and it was a total disaster! Such a great peace of work of literature was ruined by the modern view of the stage director. Can you imagine Romeo&Juliette for example with Juliette wearing a mini skirt and high hills? Well tastes differ, but I believe classical literature must not be spoiled by the modern interpretation. We left the theatre 40’ from the start. Have to mention instead of 18:00 it started at 18:20. Probably that’s...
