Dopios is a true culinary treasure nestled in the heart of Athens! From the moment I stepped through the door, I was enveloped in an atmosphere that exuded warmth and hospitality. It's not just a restaurant; it's an experience that celebrates the essence of Greek cuisine and culture.

The menu at Dopios is a culinary journey through Greece's rich gastronomic heritage. Every dish is a masterpiece crafted with meticulous attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to quality.

To start, I savored the classic Greek salad, a vibrant medley of crisp vegetables, succulent olives, and creamy feta cheese, all bathed in a sun-kissed olive oil dressing. It was the perfect introduction to the symphony of flavors that awaited.

The moussaka at Dopios is nothing short of divine. Layer upon layer of tender eggplant, flavorful ground meat, and velvety béchamel sauce meld together in a comforting embrace. Each bite transported me to the heart of Greece, where tradition and taste come together in perfect harmony.

The grilled octopus, a house specialty, was a revelation. Tender yet charred to perfection, it was a testament to the culinary prowess of the kitchen. The tzatziki, a simple yet essential Greek staple, was transformed into a creamy, garlicky delight that paired wonderfully with warm pita bread.

What truly sets Dopios apart is not just the exceptional food but also the impeccable service. The staff is a team of knowledgeable, passionate individuals who take pride in sharing the treasures of Greek cuisine. They offered insightful recommendations and were attentive to every detail, ensuring a dining experience that was nothing short of extraordinary.

And let's not forget the wine selection—a carefully curated list that perfectly complemented the meal. The sommelier's expertise shone through as each glass enhanced the flavors of the dishes.

Dopios is more than a restaurant; it's a family gathering, a celebration of culture, and a culinary adventure all rolled into one. Whether you're a visitor to Athens or a local in search of an authentic taste of Greece, Dopios is a must-visit. This dining experience is not just about satisfying your hunger; it's about creating lasting memories. It's a destination that leaves an indelible mark on your palate and your heart.

I can't recommend Dopios enough for those who crave genuine Greek cuisine in an inviting, soulful setting. It's not just a restaurant; it's an ode to the beauty of Greece's culinary traditions. A dining experience at Dopios is a journey you won't...

This is a very easily accessible spot in the heart of the city center, in a very vibrant area filled with award winning food and drink spots. The service is very good, with quick, attentive and informed staff. The food is good, but in the context of the very well known chef who has designed the menu, it did leave me expecting more than what was on offer. Some of the dishes were indeed tasty and it was easy to distinguish some of the ingredients used. More specifically, the rice pudding desert with strawberry jam and a hint of rose water (?) essence was truly unique. You can feel each individual taste tickle the tastebuds, and the combination works really well. The avocado tzatziki, however, was overpowered by the typical tzatziki flavor (garlic/cucumber) - the avocado flavor was largely undetectable. The lamb meatballs with avocado spread (aka lamb kebab?) were very tasty, though ultimately nothing spectacular. For me the biggest disappointment was the cured meat (kavourmas) in green tomato sauce and poached egg, where the egg was barely poached (once burst it was quite undercooked for a poached egg -the egg white was way too runny- and the consistency, while looked good at first glance, felt closer to the egg you typically find in a beef tartare dish). The potato salad (maniatiki) was a pleasant surprise of a mix of flavors and is worth trying. There was also a sausage dish that arrived on the table, but looking back at the menu I can’t place it (not sure if the dish was missing elements/ingredients), and it was a rather indifferent dish. Maybe other dishes on the menu perform better than the ones we sampled. Ultimately, other than the rice pudding desert, there was no stand-out dish that I’d rush to go back to Dopios for, as it was overall...

SIMPLY AMAZING!!!!! Chef Peskias is an acclaimed chef and the expectations for the taste and the quality of the food is already high. The attitude though, the quality of the absolutely personalized service and the actual taste of the food was an experience that is simply over and beyond. Our experience was during a late lunch on a Saturday. We had a diabetic person in our table and the care that the stuff showed was astonishing. After we asked our waiter if the main dish of that person contained any ingredients that we should refrain its consumption, she came back quickly informing us about the specific dish with detailed explanation. On top of that after two minutes, another member of the stuff came back and informed us about all dishes we had ordered one by one and what this person should eat or not. Upon all this responsible, attentive and thoughtful attitude, they offered us a dish that the diabetic friend could eat without any concern, even if we already had dishes –diabetic friendly on our table. So apart from the considerate attitude of one waitress, the internal communication of the stuff and the cooperation with the kitchen that Dopios has, is giving an example of an excellent service. Needless to write anything about the food. Everything is so delectable done. Greek cuisine with an interesting twist, balancing perfectly between tradition and respectful modernization. Fun fact was when I went to my office on Monday to share my wonderful experience with my colleagues, half of them mentioned that they had been already and they left impressed like I did, and few others booked and going two days later, came back with the same enthusiasm. By the way my images don’t give justice to the amazing taste. Book today and...
