Filion Cafe — Restaurant in Athens

The coffee here is excellent – rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care. However, one big downside is the smoking area right in front of the café. I understand it’s not entirely the café’s fault that people choose to smoke, but the presence of ashtrays on nearly every outdoor table feels like quiet approval. I realize that this may be part of the local culture here in Athens, but honestly, it's unpleasant and shows a lack of respect for other guests who simply want to enjoy their coffee without inhaling smoke. It's disappointing in an otherwise great spot....

I went yesterday for the first time, the service was amazing and the staff was really professional and nice and very helpful. The only issue was the food, I ate lunch there and unfortunately it affected severely my stomach to the point that I had severe headache, dizziness and nausea. I would recommend the place for breakfast and coffee but for lunch I would recommend maybe something different than the things they have as cooked meals. Also the meal was too expensive. Again I say the staff was amazing...

I am Greek and I go to this place since I was a teenager. I had many years to go but yesterday I was shocked by the price we needed to pay. We paid for two espresso and a Perrier 10,60. I still cannot digest that. I am sad that my country has become like that. This is kolonaki (a more upscale area) but still, 10,60 for these products is insane.
