This “One-Stop-Shopping for all” place was introduced by the concierge at InterContinental hotel from a block away. The owner of Gaia carefully and proudly lined-up numbers of items i.e. beverages, liquors, coffee, pastries, snacks and souvenirs… whatever you need during the travel must be found at here with very reasonable prices. But the best part is the coffee! I was introduced to iced Greek coffee and addicted immediately hence I kept stopping by this shop for purchasing a cup of cold coffee, lounging on the bench under the parasol where shop owner nicely prepared. The owner is a very fluent English speaker, probably better than me, therefore this shop has a lot of English speaking customers as well as native residents. If you are staying in Neos Cosmos area in Athens, particularly InterContinental Athens, it’s worth stopping at here to purchase a cup of...

Gosh I miss this little market! Gaia is a wonderful small town experience in the middle of a thriving metropolis.

PROS: A wonderful shop owner! I felt welcomed there every time I went. Even had some great conversation while there. He really does have everything you could need and some things you know, you just want. ; ) Tasty coffee! Possibly the best Freddo Espresso I drank while in Greece. A refreshing Aperol Spritz. Perfect for a sweltering July day in Athens. A relaxing veranda to enjoy your Freddo.

CONS: Maybe just one. 🤷‍♀️ It’s small inside. But I really think that lends to its charm.

CONCLUSION: A must visit if your a local, or a tourist wanting to feel like you’re part of the...

This place was recommended to us by the staff of the InterContinental Hotel. The owner of the shops has carefully chosen products in his Sortiment, which I assume you can’t get everywhere- so apart from the day to day items you find unique product of Greece. I highly recommend to have one of the home made meals - delicious and very affordable.

I highly recommend to visit this place have a meal, enjoy a coffee and have a chat with the owner. It will make your stay in Athens definitely more memorable. Last but not least if you are on the look out for local products - this is the place to go.

PS.: the owner is very patient and polite even if you had one or two...

Wow...what an experience! From having all our previous plans cancelled, to meeting the humblest, kindest, and most generous man in all of Athens has been a memory that will last a lifetime. This man single-handedly changed the course of our weekend, providing us with an endless variety of traditional Greek food and drinks--sharing his stories and experiences with us on the way. We got the opportunity to come for both breakfast and lunch, and would highly recommend it if you need a relaxing place to sit and enjoy a meal with your friends or family. If you're ever in the area, at least check out the store and grab a souvenir for the family.
