Louiza Athens — Restaurant in Athens

Went for Dinner at about 8:00 on a Friday night, this is early for Dinner in Athens, but the restaurant had few patrons. Despite this I went ahead and ordered a Beetroot Salad and the Sourdough bread. Each was portion enough for two people But I finished the Delicious Beet Salad. Went for the Poached fish with potatoes, this was nicely done though Not reading Greek I had not realized it was poached and was expecting crispy skin. Despite this it was cooked properly and seasoned well . Finished with the Greek Walnut pie with ice cream. Again this was enough for two or three people but I enjoyed my share.

This place is a couple of short blocks from the Athenaeum Intercontinental Hotel. And well worth a visit. I hear they have nice brunch and I believe it would be a perfect spot for Brunch. I will try...

This wasn’t the first time we’ve visited Louiza but they’ve changed their entire menu since the last time!

Since there were 5 of us, we decided to share 7 different dishes from the brunch menu (five savoury and two sweet). Everything was extremely tasty with the chicken pancakes and the bougatsa pancakes being the most delicious.

The place itself is great, with the tables by the park being under the shade of the trees which made the whole experience very refreshing, making you forget you were still in the city.

I have been to this restaurant several times as I used to live a few minutes by walk from it. Sometimes I only went for a drink or a beer, sometimes I also had dinner. The service was always very friendly and attentive, cannot complain at all about them. The food was modern and fresh, however not always perfect. For example, I had a lamb knuckle once, which was absolutely delicious, however when I had the same dish about a month later it was way worse, tough and the side tragana was too sour. Mushroom kritharoto never disappointed, lamb mini burgers are also a good choice. Overall a good place that I can recommend, however they should improve the consistency of the quality...
