Good sushi but certainly not WOW, which doesn’t justify the prices.
The venue is interesting but more as a cult place, as it is in the meat market (with all related smells)
I went there with 2 friends, both not Greek and in the f&b sector. The wine list included only non-Greek wines. The friend asked for a greek wine and the waiter was trying to persuade him to get one from the wine list, telling him a story about it being the best wine in the world for sushi…
We had 6 oysters, a little tartar and ceviche, two small red mullets and a small scorpio fish for sashimi, some inside outs and nigiri with monk fish, sole fish and one roll with shrimps tempura.
We paid 360 euros for that. The wine was 60€ so 300€ was for the food, which is overpriced.
Verdict: the place is interesting, but not enough to justify the price overhead, as the food is just ok. One star off for the prices and another star off for the service’s...
Read moreIgnore the bad reviews - the food was not only delicious, but I enjoyed a really warm welcome from the main guy and then, when I asked for sardines, he went on a hunt for me - took him a while as nowhere had them and wanted to sell so few! I couldn’t help check the place on google and was honestly surprised by the reviews, and slightly worried…. but when they came they utterly were divine! Beautifully cooked, seasoned, and presented! Again I was a little worried when the bill came as I was ordering off the menu…. and then was shockingly low. Only €10! They never hassled me to get anything else, they put all that time into finding them for me too… and really that’s the kind of restaurant I want to eat in - one that serves you great food for the loving of...

So it was one great experience, made of fresh shrimps grilled, accompanied by salad and bread, fabulous home made desert of lemon cream and ice cream, original serving, smells of wood from grill and fresh fish from stalls, simple and dated tables and chairs in the rush of central market, attentive and fast service. Yes, it definitely is not a cheap place. But if you are of the same kind of travellers as we are, you will enjoy it. (If you need more polished environment, rather find...
