Menta Neos Kosmos — Restaurant in Athens

I’ve never left a 1-star review before, and as a business owner myself, I don’t take it lightly. However, it’s clear this business doesn’t value visitors.

Over the past week, we bought coffee and food here daily, and unfortunately, the service consistently made it feel like we weren’t welcome—especially because I was speaking English. I don’t speak Greek yet, and I’m sorry for that.

Today, after a month in Greece supporting local, non-touristy businesses, I didn’t have cash left intentionally. When I tried to pay with a card, the staff—including the delivery drivers and even a child at the register—mocked me for not having cash and made me feel deeply uncomfortable.

For context: card fees are common business costs worldwide, and for travelers, withdrawing cash often comes with higher fees than using cards.

We’ve fallen in love with Athens, have made wonderful friends and family connections here, and are even considering moving here and learning the language. But one thing is certain—we’ll avoid this business in the future, and I’d encourage other visitors to...

the coffee is pretty weak, not so tasty. from the first time I had coffee from them it left me.. meh. but thought it was maybe a bad preparation. and indeed it is the preparation. they burnt the milk a couple of times. and somehow it didnt make me feel is worth the money. but hey, the place looks nice and appealing! if they can invest a bit of attention in preparing the coffee would...

Πρώτη φορά πάω σε καφέ και με αντιμετωπίζουν λες και είμαι κάποιο ενοχλητικό έντομο. Καθόλου φιλικοί και χωρίς χαμόγελο. Κυριολεκτικά αισθάνθηκα λες και έκαναν αγγαρεία. Αν βαριούνται αυτό που κάνουν ας ψάξουν αλλού για δουλειά. Ο ντελιβεράς τους με έσπρωξε ενώ περίμενα στο ταμείο για να δώσω παραγγελία, ο νεαρός στο ταμείο δεν με κοίταζε καν - εντελώς αγενής - η δε κοπέλα στους καφέδες με ρώτησε τρεις φορές τι καφέδες θα φτιάξει και με καθυστέρησε γιατί έδωσε προτεραιότητα σε γνωστό πελάτη του μαγαζιού ο οποίος ήρθε μετά από εμένα. Και στο τέλος μου πέταξε τους καφέδες στον πάγκο χωρίς να μου πει ποιος είναι τι και όταν τη ρώτησα με ξινό υφάκι απλά έγραψε πάνω στο καπάκι χωρίς να μου μιλήσει καν. Και ήταν και απαίσιος ο καφές. Σκέτο νερό. Σε πελάτες που είναι αγενείς ας κάνουν ότι θέλουν. Προσωπικά γνωρίζω πόσο δύσκολη είναι η δουλειά τους και πάντα είμαι ευγενική και με υπομονή. Αλλά όταν με αντιμετωπίζουν κατά αυτόν τον τρόπο οι εργαζόμενοι όχι απλά ευγενική δεν είμαι αλλά δεν πατάω και ξανά το...
