I wrote this on another site but have to show the love everywhere!!
We just had the most wonderful lunch at Classic de Nikki, and it was easily one of the most memorable dining experiences of our entire trip to Greece.
The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a cozy and beautifully decorated space—spotless, welcoming, and full of character. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between casual and refined. But what truly sets this place apart is the heart behind it.
The chef and owner—Youyes (which he told us is “Jorge” in Greek, spelling may vary)—was beyond hospitable. He didn't just cook us a meal; he hosted us. He personally made sure we were having an amazing time, helping me with my first taste of ouzo, showing me the proper way to mix it with just a dash of water. It was a small gesture, but it meant everything. And let me say: it was exquisite.
We tried a variety of dishes:
Open and closed souvlaki (both chicken and pork — can’t go wrong with either, though I lean slightly toward the chicken) A mountain of fries on the side, crispy and seasoned to perfection A simple, fresh Greek salad — proof that quality ingredients don’t need dressing up Grilled pita bread that was genuinely to die for And to top it off, a surprise homemade dessert that absolutely warmed our hearts Even my 14-year-old son couldn't finish his massive gyro wrap, but he gave it a valiant (and joyful) effort.
And here's the kicker — it was all extremely affordable.
This place is the real deal: humble, honest, perfectly prepared food, rooted in tradition but delivered with passion and pride. As I told the chef, it's something we just don’t get in the U.S. — that rare combination of simplicity and soul.
We’ll be back every single day while we’re in town....

I ordered an omelet made with eggs, potatoes, sausage, and peppers, which came with a side of fresh tomato, olives, and bread. The omelet was not only delicious but also very generously portioned. It’s clear they put a lot of care into their dishes!
The prices were very competitive, offering great value for the quality and quantity of food.
I strongly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Athens. It’s a gem worth...
Read moreWe went on a Sunday around noon and the chef was the only one attending, doing everything by himself. We arrived first, and then two other couples came in—but even so, the service wasn’t slow at all. He managed the timing perfectly.
This place is a true hidden gem! Simple, but incredible food. I honestly don’t have the words to describe how amazing the gyros were. We also wanted to try the apple pie, but he recommended something else instead—and it was pure perfection. We had to stop and eat it slowly just to savor every bite of that delicious dessert.
If you’re thinking about going—don’t hesitate. You’ll be...
