A lovely place. Very welcoming. Mostly seafood menu for main course.
As usual the 2 of us like to have a couple drinks before committing to eat. We were ushered to a table outside (after a short discussion between the staff themselves) and served drinks at a table for drinkers only. This was about 20:15 so the place had just one table covered. We read the menu and watched what was served to the only table present and it looked good. We asked to eat and preferably inside. We were given a lovely table at the rear. The older waiter ( Sethis. I think this is correct) was happy to talk with us. He explained the restaurant had been open since 1965 but had relocated from over the road in 1971 and he himself had been there for 17 years. The fried Squid and Cuttlefish were excellent as well as the other dishes and for the British out there, the "french fries" were proper crispy chips. Portions were substantial. Read moreThis looks like a great restaurant which had amazing reviews so I was really enthusiastic about trying. When I arrived there was someone taking orders from a table at the outside entrance. I waited for him to finish so that I can ask him about the availability but he ignored me completely. Then, I reluctantly entered the restaurant thinking maybe he wasn’t the right person to ask but he was the only person who seemed like the responsible of the restaurant. I kindly called him for his attention and asked if they had any available table, with an annoyed expression he just said no and turned around. I understand that he might be busy and overwhelmed but I think the kindness is also important even though you have enough business and you don’t need any more customers. I felt very upset. I will never know if they have really good food or if they’re just another overrated restaurant because I don’t like this kind of approach so I will never try visiting this restaurant again. Reserving a table is prefered if you want to find a table. The restaurant is open from 12:30-22:00. We ordered several small dishes as a start and 3 main dishes. (Marinated anchovies, fried cuttle fish, cod fish with skordalia(garlic dip), fried mullet fish.
