Thiseio Bakery — Restaurant in Athens

It it wasn't for this bakery, I would be starving during my vacation in Athens. Not only is everything yummy, but they are made daily on the premises. If you come in before 8am, you will see condensation on the display case since the baked goods have literally just come out of the oven.

I would also like to commend the people who work here. They are always friendly and upbeat. There is a woman in particular, who is probably one of the kindest souls I've come across in my travels. She's the type of person who really enjoys what she does for a living.

Dropped in here on a couple occasions. First for the coffee and spinach pie. The coffees were good and the spinach pie had great flavor and was very filling. For desserts we tried the Galaktoboureko & Portokalopita. The Galaktoboureko custard was delicious and made for a great breakfast pastry. The Portokalopita was okay. The we had another savory pastry with meat on it that also was okay, but I preferred the spanikopita over the others.

This was right down the street from my Airbnb, so I decided to stop in on my way to the airport on my last morning for a coffee and some pastries, and I am so upset I didn’t discover this gem earlier in my trip! The women working were very friendly, and were patient as I asked them to describe what some of the pastries were. I unfortunately don’t remember the names of everything I ordered, but I enjoyed it all! I would definitely recommend this bakery to anyone looking for quality...
