To kousoulo — Restaurant in Athens

This is not actually a review of the food as I didn’t eat at this restaurant. However, I want to put out a special shout out for the service. We had eaten in another restaurant a few blocks away and had ordered an Uber to pick us up outside of this restaurant. The Uber never came and the owner size standing there for at least 2025 minutes and came over to offer his help. It was election day, and apparently there were almost no cabs available. He spent at least 20 minutes trying to reach cab companies and then call Don one of his waiters to walk us several blocks away to another location where he could get a cab for us. Eventually, a cab did stop outside of his restaurant that had a patron in it, and he convinced the driver to take us as well. I’m sure this kind of service is reflected in the food and everything else this restaurant and I will certainly be eating there next time...

I went to this restaurant on 12 November to dine in as a group of 5. 2 of our group were looking for vegan options only and I am pleased to say the restaurant could accommodate them. The food was very tasty and good value for money. The meat options were all very good as we're the salads.

A nearby table also was celebrating a birthday anniversary and the hosts did make it a nice experience for them and most likely had the cake brought to their fridge and taken out at the right time.

My only reason for giving service 4 stars is because at times getting the attention of waiters was hard, however it was a busy Saturday night and it was clear that they were in the early stages of learning to work together (as in many restaurants post pandemic were there have been personnel changes. We had dinner here our first night in Greece. As we walked around the area near our AirB&B, there were several restaurants, but this is the only place where someone came out to speak to us and make us feel welcome as we were perusing the sidewalk menu.

The food was delicious! We tried several appetizers/shared plates, two different salads, the special (moussaka) and pasta bolognese. Every dish was perfectly prepared and so tasty. We all over ate because everything was so good.

The service was exceptional. Food and drinks were delivered quickly, and the servers were not obtrusive but always dropping by to check on us, make sure everything was okay, etc.

My only criticism is that it's on a bit of a busy street, and there was a car alarm nearby that kept getting activated by noise or motion. It would not keep me from eating here again and...
