Apparently “can I bring you some water?” here isn’t an offer to bring you water but rather that they are going to charge you 3 euro for a bottle of water. Every other bar/restaurant on this street gives you a free glass or pitcher of tap water with your drinks or food so I assumed it was the same thing here, but apparently not. At the very least they should clarify if you want to buy a bottle of water instead being scumbags about it.
It’s pretty busy at night so I’m not sure why they feel the need to try to screw people out of another few euro. I would recommend any of the other bars along the street further down if you are just after drinks or cocktails, besides being more transparent they also have more character and cooler decor.
Beer was ~1€+ more than other bars on the same street less than and couldn’t taste/feel the alcohol in the two cocktails we ordered.

Read moreWe just happened to stumble upon Tragos while wandering through Psirri—and what an incredible find! The menu caught our eye with its unique, thoughtfully curated offerings, so we decided to give it a try. From the moment we sat down, we knew we were in for something special.
The service was warm and engaging—our waiter (tall with a mustache, whose name we sadly didn’t catch) welcomed us like old friends and made us feel completely at home, as if we were exactly where we were meant to be.
And then came the food—every dish was a standout. We had the roasted mushrooms, the dip sampler, the mutton meatballs, and the Tragos salad. Each plate was beautifully presented, perfectly balanced in flavor, and clearly crafted with care. The attention to detail in both taste and presentation made this one of our most memorable meals in Athens.
It’s rare to find a place that gets everything right—ambiance, service, and food—but Tragos delivered on all fronts. Truly a gem. Highly,...
