The olive oil, the oil, the oil! I will get to that later on! We didn’t look at reviews for this wonderful taverna …. We were trying our luck and I had just mentioned to my daughter.. look at all the flash restaurants that are empty, when we heard the sounds of people eating and having fun, we look around and saw George at the front door calling us over with the words “your Greek! Come and eat here!” He was right, Aussie Greeks wanting real Greek food, I had a quick look at what was on the plates of the customers, big servings of fresh food! We went in ..best decision so far ..apart from hotel Orpheus ..value hotel! The wonderful Antodetta served us and we had a Greek salad and order the mixed grill. When the huge and very fresh salad arrived it looked light on the dressing, strange for Greeks, I looked for oil on the table, found it, smelt it and poured some on the plate and my daughter and I dipped bread into it and immediately asked, we’re did you get this oil from? Wow, as good as my grandfathers who grew his own olives and made his own oil! We smashed the salad, a mistake as when a platter that could feed 4 people of the best sausage I have had in greece, best chicken souvlaki,lamb, genuine keftethedes or beeftekia,rissoles Greek style on a bed of chips which had soaked up all the flavours of the meat, came… it defeated us … but what a feed! Add dips on the side bread yogurt etc… genuine Greek food ..this place and the Greek hospitality are the real deal ..that’s why it has so many good reviews.. and now one more!
