A very "strategically" placed coffe/resturant below the castle. After my "climb" to the tower and back the one thing i needed was a refreshment and that's what i got. The thing that greeks do (saying greeks because from where i am, nobody does this sort of thing) is giving free water (even though its tap water). They gave me at leadt 1l worth of free water which i am thankfull, with all the heat and stuff. The service was fine. We ordered a strawberry milkshake, one ice cream and one orange juice. It all came up to 10.50 euros and the drinks were good, even the milkshake was very tastefull, aaand then i had to use the WC and i gotta tell ya, it wasn't the best one i've seen. A little on the broken side but apart from it everything else was good! Would recommend to stay and get a cold drink after your castle climbin. P.S it has a great view over the...

A Hidden Gem in Kavala – To Briki Café

To Briki is hands down one of the most charming and authentic spots I’ve ever visited. Nestled in the old town of Kavala in the castle area, this beautiful stone-built traditional café instantly transports you to another era with its warm, rustic ambiance and breathtaking views over the sea.

The staff are welcoming and friendly. I had the baklava, and wow – what a treat! Perfectly fresh and beautifully crunchy, with just the right balance of sweetness and texture. Paired with a traditional Greek coffee, it was an unforgettable experience.

Whether you’re a traveler looking to taste the soul of Kavala or a local seeking a serene spot to unwind, To Briki is a must-visit. This place doesn’t just serve food and drinks – it serves memories.

But you don't have to take my word, just look at the...

The only place to see Kavala from the top. the port is at your feet. In the old city, there is the castle of Kavala. You can either go on foot, during which you will have the chance to visit the souvenir shops. Even if you go by car, the cafe and the castle have free parking lots. Coffee varieties are good. As soon as you sit down at the table, water and glasses arrive, then a beverage or food service order is taken. it is delicious and the serving bsyan is very friendly. They are very used to Turks. It has a beautiful fireplace. The toilets need to be renewed but they are clean. For smokers, there is a nice wooden carriage at the entrance...

Nice place, until you order something... I got Irish coffee (or more like Itish as the menu has it listed as) and I received a lukewarm cup of instant coffee with a teaspoon of whipped cream and a finger of froth on top (which collapsed into the coffee like a sand castle after a few mins), no hint of whiskey, coffee tasted like sweet muddy milk. Place looks good but instead of focusing on the decor, maybe focus on the quality of the coffee. Will come again to order some water.
