The biggest tourist trap you are ever going to find
I can only describe this restaurant as rubbish.
We were greeted at the entrance and not having a reservation, where shown to a vacant table, no problems up to now, menu's arrived and the choice while reasonable, it was nothing compared to where we had eaten previously, I liked the sound of the moules marinier and my wife chose the souvlaki, the waitress came to take our order, and told my wife she would have a 15 minutes wait for this dish, not a problem we thought, then I ordered my moules marinier, (this was a dish on the menu), what is this? she asked, Then through a remake at me that, "we are in Greece", and I should order sum unpronounceable dish, 3 times I tried to order my muscles, she was just plain rude and very obnoxious, not what you want when going out for a meal, having had a very enjoyable day in this beautiful town.
Eventually the food arrived, after a wait of over an hour, bearing in mind that my wife was told that there would be a 15 minute wait for the souvlaki she had ordered it was very chewy and tough and my mussles had never seen any white wine or garlic during their cooking, ( chips where very nice though)
After we had finished our main course, the restaurant manager served us a complementary drink and dessert ( nothing more than you would get regularly) he apologised for the delay and asked if we had enjoyed our meal, I'm sure you can imagine my response, he asked why we hadn't enjoyed it and it also would appear that he hadn't heard of moules marinier, which I find rediculas, as someone in the catering trade, everyone has heard of this dish.
Ok rant over, please don't waist your money on this establishment, as I said right at the beginning of this review, it's a tourist trap, there were no locals in the restaurant and to me that says it all, there are so many other beautiful restaurants in the town, all I can say is you have been...
Read moreWent to Embassy for dinner. It is off the beaten path, a bit away from the more crowded restaurants. The atmosphere is very cozy and nice- most tables are outside. House wine was very tasty and good value. They brought some tzatsiki and tomato / cucumber for a complementary appetizer. Dip was great and garlicky! We had the spicy sausage and aubergine dip for starters. The sausage was great - done on the grill and very tasty. For mains, we had the octopus in red wine sauce and the mixed Greek plate. The octopus was very tender but way too salty. The mixed Greek plate had some highlights - the homemade vine leaves were delicate and fresh and the meatballs were well seasoned. The moussaka lacked flavor and pies were dry and the...
Read moreWe went to embassy twice on our holiday. we had the salmon on the grill and the pork shank which was recommended, both meals were absolutely perfect (so good we just HAD to go the next day, by far the best food we have ever eaten, the prices were so cheap too, I’d happily pay twice the amount for that food. the staff were extremely friendly, our waiters (George and Andrea’s) were hilarious and provided the best service we have seen. the restaurant was so cozy and looked amazing, the atmosphere was fantastic, the beer was delicious, it is hands down the best place we’ve ever been to in our lives, we will be coming to create again as soon as possible and...
