My experience with this establishment was not good. Service was very slow even by Greek standards. We had to flag the servers multiple times in order to bring us napkins or to ask for drinks/food and it’s been rather a struggle as we (and others) were successfully avoided by the 2 servers. Mr Panos is a nice Greek guy as seen in the movies but his presence only was not enough. The young helper unfortunately does not speak English and communicating with him was difficult. I ended up googling the images of a cup and a teaspoon to show him what I needed. Ambiance is not the best; fake plastic flowers, menus simply printed and laminated and half of the items were missing information - none of these would actually matter if the food would be good but….it is mediocre; greek salad was ok (in menu it said it has capers but in the plate was none), moussaka was ok-ish but too sweet for my taste, lamb was ok (served in tinfoil and grease proof paper), octopus ordered by someone from the group I’ve been told it was tender so it was good. While the restaurant was half empty, the coordination between servers and kitchen was not good as we’ve waited a long time for the order to be taken and food to arrive. Part of the food actually never arrived. After waiting for more than 40 minutes on a half empty restaurant we asked about a moussaka and a Greek salad they somehow lost on the way. We just wanted to pay and leave for the rest of the group left hungry to enjoy food somewhere else but surprisingly, on the bill other items were mentioned like pasta and chicken souvlaki were never ordered. After clarifying this I have tried paying by card but surprise, the card machine we’ve been told it doesn’t work and we had to pay cash. We’ve seen many people unhappy with the service that night, trying to grab the attention of waiters and attempting to pay. It has been a bad experience and we can’t recommend this place. I have no ideea how that many things can go bad during a service and it flows with 5 star reviews when is clearly below...
Read moreThe guy infront which brings the customers in is somewhat pushy, so we thought we would try. We had a table immediately but had to wait like 10-15 mins because a waiter came to take our order. We tried calling the waiter but he just ignored us, turned his back around and look really pissed off. The waiter kept also throwing dirty looks to his colleague because the guy kept bringing customers in. The waiter was also unfriendly because my bf ordered Greek coffee, he told my Bf rudely it‘s 13:30 and he can‘t tell the kitchen to make a Greek coffee. (They should have just remove it from their menu or write „no Greek coffee at 13:30 ) That’s why my Bf ordered double espresso instead. But the waiter wasn’t paying attention and rudely told my Bf that he doesn’t have anything yet on his list that’s why I told him:“my Bf would like a double espresso. I mean, if his exhausted, he should tell his colleague to stop bringing in customers inside and not bent his frustrations to the customers. It was really awkward actually…We‘ve been in 5 Greek restaurants in HH and the staffs there are really welcoming and friendly that‘s why I am really disappointed with this restaurant. I also specifically asked the guy infront if I can have rice instead of french fries before going inside the restaurant and he told me „YES“ but when I was ordering the waiter told me they can‘t make it for me. The food was also composed of 50% french fries 45% salad and 5% meat. I understand that because the food itself costs only 16€ excluding the drinks and coffee. or maybe I should went to an Imbis instead 😂 maybe experience would have been more pleasant than dining in this restaurant. Definitely NOT GOING back to...
Read moreOkay, hawking into restaurants is fine, but hard sell, high prices and aggressively rude. We were hawked in, given "free" ouzo when we say but taking a look at the prices we considered them to be quite high for the area (we live here so we know prices etc pretty well). We concluded it was just too expensive and decided to move on, the owner became angry and told us we should pay for the complimentary drink which was fine but was rude and dismissive. Don't go here, it's a trap, bullying gullible tourists and not giving them a chance to think about what they want. Avoid at all costs, I am sure that there will be a rude comment in answer to this review. I suggest potential customers check TripAdvisor instead of believing the UNVERIFIED Google reviews.
,........ In answer to the owners comments, I did not review your food but the service, as a customer, I examined your food offering and concluded that it was not what it my friends wanted after examining the prices so we decided,.as is the option for ALL customers, even the old ones,. As to if I wanted what you had to offer compared to price and decided it wasn't what we wanted. If you had said it's fine and if we could pay for the " free drinks" í would be happy to do so but the attitude and hostility received was unwarranted and soured or evening. I feel, you are being insulting with regards to the hospitality of Greece and especially Crete for your petty contempt for people over your desperate desire to squeeze profit at the cost of gentle souls enjoying the beauty and soul of the this glorious island. I understand you need to make a livelihood, I respect that but not ...
