UPDATE 08 July 2022 After a dinner reservation visit, I will have to say the service experience is too uneven to warrant 4 stars.
GO here for lunch - the staff is relaxed, there seems to be a better mood and we had just one waiter to deal with - even if someone else would occasionally bring food or drink. Friendly staff, nice location and delicious food - its difficult to ask for more on top of the hill overlooking the basin of Agios Nikolaos, this is an excellent choice for a dining place with a bit of natural ventilation on the hot days and a wonderful view.
DON'T GO here for dinner - my reservation had been messed up (even though I made it at least 5 days ago) and to make it worse this was for a marriage anniversary dinner! To many waiters were in contact - in fact the place seemed overstaffed - and there seemed to be a nervous energy and the charm of afternoon lunch had disappeared. The waiter who took our order seemed to be having a bad day and told us that the food would be brought out as it was ready - no attempt at coordinate a bit.
The foot is always delicious and well-presented - and absolutely worth a visit, no matter the time. Also strongly advise booking a table (can be done via Google map services) as this is a popular spot.
The drawback, which has nothing to do with the actual restaurant, is that it is located right by what is apparently a major selfie spot for all those who want the same photo as everyone else - so expect a good deal of people walking by if you are in the...
Read moreDisappointing considering the high reviews The view and atmosphere is really nice and the best thing about the place - great view of the lake and great evening lighting The staff were professional, friendly and spoke good English - but they didn’t really check in on our table much after a certain point once most of our food arrived so couldn’t order more drinks / check if our next dish was coming soon - sort of felt like our table got a bit forgotten - they checked in on the tables above ours frequently
Food was delicious and perfectly cooked - not the most interesting menu / didn’t have the most choice to be honest but what we had was great
We were seated on a stone step beneath other tables and a waitress smashed a wine glass above us which resulted in some glass hitting my hands and some going down the cushions behind my wife’s back - they apologised profusely but didn’t actually do anything to make it up to us - was too nervous to finish our food in case glass was in it which soured things
One of our dishes never arrived but was on the bill - they took it off once we mentioned it - not a big problem and mistakes happen - but given the whole experience this felt a really poor way to end
Overall disappointed as we expected a really top experience based on the reputation but left feeling a...
Read moreThis place calls itself an LGBTQA+ Friendly business... Here's my experience as a non binary (male) person: Me and my sister arrived and were nicely welcomed by the waiters that brought us to our table and took our order with kindness and professionalism. The bad part started when I got up to go to the bathroom, passing in front of a man who I later learned was the owner of the restaurant himself. Believing that I'd not notice, he exchanged glances, laughter and comments (unfortunately incomprehensible to me) looking at me and pointing at me with another employee behind the counter, because of my "female" clothing I guess. Having finished our dinner and paid the bill, I went over to him to point out that if it had not been for the great kindness of his waiters I would not have left that place a single penny, and that writing on Google that it is an LGBTQA+ friendly restaurant is a marketing strategy that will be short-lived if this is the disgusting way he feels he can treat customers like me. I would again like to point out that the waiters are absolutely blameless, in fact they were genuinely mortified, the second star is only for them. Otherwise the food was good, but the bill was...
