Lets do this once and for all hopefully it will help someone out, we were here on october 1st, a Tuesday, which makes it a less crowded day lets say. You pay an entry fee of 8 eur pp on weekdays, 10 on weekends and holidays just to get in and use the beach. Yes i know some people say its not legal to make private beaches but here it is. However for this price you can enter this beach and a couple other adjacent beaches. No you dont get a sunbed but there are changing rooms, shower, drinkable water ok looking bathroom and most important a couple lifeguards i think for all of that its fair price. You can also get a locker for whole days for 5 eur if you wish which is pretty useful if you feel uncomfortable leaving your belongings like wallet and phone unattended like us, that said place looked pretty neat and supervised so i doubt you would lose your things but it might be different on a crowded day. We didn't take a sunbed so i cant vouch that you would be charged more than what you should however it is mentioned there is a 3 euro charge for sunbeds but thats not the price for all the sunbeds and it gets more expensive if you get something closer to the beach. As for service and foods, we haven't ordered anything since we took our own snacks (yes according to the writings, you arent allowed to take umbrella or cool box otherwise no one cared about us having our own sandwiches or water at the beach!) however lrices as expected are more inflated like it is everywhere else... Name the last tourist spot that you went and paid a price that didn't scream im charging you more because this is a hot spot... The staff seemed pretty attentive though as we saw them regularly attending the couple of people around us regularly but this will be probably slower at a busier day but thats expected too right? No one overall forced us to buy anything or pay for a sunbed we were comfortably sitting at our own beach towel, the beach overall looked neat and you could see it is attended too that said yes you could find garbage at certain places but i would blame the lovely people visiting rather than the staff... Not sure if you noticed but water carries things and sometimes you might lose your own things as big as a sunscreen bottle in the sand and then comes up at a later time be chill ok? Its not easy to run a place as big as this fully tidy 😄 There are also cats and pigeons in the neighborhood they dont bother too much and the cats are pretty friendly too if you are into that. My only half complaint is about the fish in The water (funny right?) no im not crazy but some tend to bite and one of the families said they saw some bigger ones i was personally introduced to one of the biters and left the place with a bit of a blood and scar which j think could happen at any other beach but bright side was that the lifeguard attended to the wound applied first aid and also gave me advise on what to do and if i can go back in the water. Honestly considering his behavior, rest of staff and overall the facilities this was one of the best 8 euros that i have spent in Athens and would gladly go back to this place again but considering the crowd we saw on a week day unless you are into partying i would recommend weekdays... Considering all that they offer i bet it's a great party place and gets a big crowd...
Read moreThis is the second and LAST time I tolerate this kind of disgraceful behavior from Bolivar Beach Bar. Last night was unacceptable, and I won’t stay silent again.
My partner and I arrived early, at 9 PM, and sat at a table near the DJ booth. It was not marked as reserved, and no one informed us of any reservation system. We were simply there to enjoy the night and see two of our favorite artists — Adam Beyer and Maceo Plex.
At midnight, a waiter suddenly came over and told us we had to leave the table because “some guys paid €1000” to have it. Let me be crystal clear: You cannot force paying guests to vacate an unreserved table hours after arrival simply because someone else comes along with more money. That is discrimination based on financial status.
I told the waiter I was not moving and asked for the manager. His exact response was: “I’m just a waiter, it’s the Bolivar team who’s doing this.” That means your management deliberately sent a powerless employee to carry out your dirty work and try to humiliate us in the middle of the crowd. That’s cowardly, disrespectful, and borderline abusive.
We moved to the sandy area, but the damage was done. You made it clear: at Bolivar, money talks louder than decency, fairness, or guest rights. You humiliated us publicly and ruined our night. I left before the DJs even started — not because I wanted to, but because I felt disrespected and degraded.
This is not just bad customer service — it’s a clear violation of basic consumer rights and dignity. I have every right to occupy any non-reserved space in your venue, especially if I arrived hours before and was never warned or informed about any “reservation.” This behavior could be legally challenged under consumer protection and equal treatment laws.
Let it be known: I will never return, and I will make sure others know exactly how Bolivar treats loyal guests. You don’t run a beach bar — you run a cash auction disguised as...
Read moreMy review is very mixed just letting you know. If you’re in Athens this is a solid choice to lounge at the beach with waitstaff. The have a full food and drink menu and hookah. I only had fries and drinks. Everything is on the pricey side which is to expected of the place. They have pretty and clean lounge chairs and straw umbrellas. Now, The bad! There is no proper system to give out and assign lounge beds! They take money at the gate and when you get in Bolivar says they don’t have any loungers and they are not in charge of the gate service so you pay and can’t be accommodated ones inside. Another thing the lady who seats could have cared less! for my business! Like she quickly dismissed me and asked me to keep going down the beach to another establishment that I wasn’t interested in. After walking around for some time to find a spot, two Caucasian women arrived and they were seated right away in the front. Whether this is racism or classism(assumed so obviously because you don’t know me!) it is definitely discrimination. A black family saw me frustrated and offered me one of their lounges. Apparently the same thing had happened to them when they arrived and they had to fight their way to getting sitting. It’s quiet sad. I had read about the rudeness of the staff(bartender was not nice, wifi wasn’t working apparently) and that is for sure true! The waitstaff who attended to me ones I was seated was pleasant. The beach is clean and very beautiful, the sand clean and so sandy, the bathroom was average. Overall nice facility just don’t expect fair or the best service and you will have a good time. I was told it’s a nice...
