We had high hopes, along with high expectations for our visit to Rayēn.
Even though in their case a detailed review is also "free consultancy" on how to improve themselves, it is not possible not to mention the positive points but most importantly the big disappointments we experienced.
Our night started by experiencing the "Greek version" of face control at the door. We said hi to the last at the door but before she had an opportunity to respond a beardy fellow jumped in front of us asking us if we want drinks or food. One of those guys with the open shirts who forger to button up from the belly button up, making sure their chest-hair is in your face when they speak to you. The whole apperance and attitude that looked more like "I am here because I am selling protection" was extremely off putting, but we ignored that and continued to be seated.
We chose several cocktails and decided to try the most expensive dishes they had in the menu. (Steak €38.00 each)
The tacos were uncooked, and extremely basic, without any actual flavour. The quasadilias came with a massive squirt of mayonese on top, and cold.
The steak was nowhere near to that price tag, full of fatty bits you had to spit. They did not have any sauce choice for the steaks, nor any sides. #wtf
Last but not least, the cocktails that were their own inventions, had limited amount of alcohol in them, and in general a big disappointment. Especially when their price tag is €12-€14! We asked for a custom cocktail and we were told they do not do any other cocktails other the ones they invented which are listed in the drinks menu.🤦♀️
The (only) positive point, hence the second star was that our waiter tried his best to serve us the best he could.
On out way our, the beardy dude, was busy talking on the phone, so, no goodnight or a thank you.
In conclusion, an way overpriced restaurant with bellow average food/drink choices and definitely not a pleassent welcome/goodbye.
You should try Puerto 99 in Dubai; they have way better prices, and really nice food, without the view of the garbage bins across the...
Read moreThe space is really nice and beautiful. But when I asked the waiter if they have any mocktails because I can’t drink alcohol he said we can make you any cocktail you see in the menu alcohol free. So I ordered one and then another waiter comes and brings our drinks and tells me that they can only make alcohol free mojito so the barman made me that. Without asking me if I wanted mojito if I maybe would prefer something else. They just...
Read more5 stars for the vibe (interior decor/music/vibes) 4 stars for the drinks (chilli Margherita was amazing however Frozen Margherita’s were not available which is exactly what we wanted. We also ordered champagne which was serviced with crushed ice, lime and mint in the glass - tasted incredible and we appreciated the unique service). 3 stars for the food - vegetarian options were...
