Anise Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands

I ate here with my girlfriend while we staying nearby. It was honestly one of the better meals we had on the trip, and the food in Greece and on Corfu is generally excellent.

We had a mix of 3 or 4 starters and a couple of mains to share. The sourdough was delicious, the other dishes we had were well balanced, fresh and very tasty. Saganaki with kumquat was very good. It was quiet when we went as it was quite late, but we were not rushed at all. The waitress was very kind.

Overall I was impressed. The menu was a bit more innovative and interesting than the usual tourist restaurants with their overly long menus of repetitive dishes but the prices were not significantly higher. Good prices for good food.

Oh and by the way I have been a chef for 15 years so I feel qualified to comment.

Casually found this place on Google Maps while trying to find a restaurant where to have dinner. I totally nailed it. This is a new restaurant and the reviews don’t lie, it’s absolutely a gem. The service was kind and soft-spoken, the presentation of the plates was beautiful and they tasted amazing as well. The paccheri were mine and the tomato sauce was very sweet, the seafood was a good combo with it. Their plates are very sophisticated and delicate, you need to take your time to actually enjoy them. I also liked the atmosphere and the places outside. It’s a restaurant easy to find and it’s worth every penny. Hopefully one day, I’ll come back here! Much love...
