We had a chance at the end of September 2022 to dine-in. We have been caught on street in a rainy day by not pleasant at all owner/manager.We decided to give a chance and sat down.Straight on olives, water and bread appeared on the table without asking us.We asked to remove this all, because we new they will charge for this later-it is a very common trick in Greece.Ordered food which was overpriced and had to pay for a sides separately which was not stated in the menu, so we had to ask and the manager wasn't quite happy to answer questions.Food was average. Asked for a bill and when it arrived we noticed extra 5 euro have been included in the bill. When the owner had been asked what is it for, he became very rude and sad it was for bread, olives and water that we sent away at the beginning and never touched, which I told him. Then he started to shout that our bill was cheap anyway and that extras was for salt, pepper and olive oil on the table. After arguing for some time with angry face he took of 3 euros for the olives, bread and water that we didn't eat, but I had to pay 2 euros for salt and pepper because we were tired arguing.I know 5 euros extra is not a lot, but it is not the point!!! Needless to say we didn't leave any tips, that we normally do. We recommend to always check your bill at the end,...
Read moreI did not have the best meal or experience here. I tried to be a courteous guest and make my requests in Greek (not perfect but I'm learning from my Greek family). We ordered fries, horta, and shrimp saganaki. The fries were good but the horta was very plain. The shrimp saganaki was 16 euros for only 4 medium shrimps and the sauce was oily. In our final bill, we were charged for the olives and bread that we did not eat. I asked if this was a mistake and the waiter became angry and said he would take it off but it was meant to be a "cover for using their salt, oil, etc." Nearly every place I've been to in the area only charges if you eat these extras. Also, a cover might make sense if not for the charges being the exact price of the bread and olives from the menu. Finally, he asked where we were from and angrily said "this would cost three times more where you come from". I didn't give the guy a hard time at all for overcharging us 3,50 and skimping on the shrimp, so his response was...
Read moreThis place was recommended to us by a lovely fat Greek fishmonger working at the central market, so obviously we were excited to visit.
Everything we had was fresh and delicious! The tomato salad was immaculate and the surprise winner of the fish dinner. The fried aubergine and courgette (deep fried like tempura) were so tasty you couldn’t stop yourself from shoving them in your mouth.
The seafood was exactly what we wanted. Some marinated anchovies, grilled squid, and charcoal roasted sea bass. So so good!
We ordered a lot of food and it was appropriately priced for the area, not cheap but not crazy expensive. 120€ for 5 dishes + bread and olives + drinks. Sea bass alone was 60€ so just avoid that and have something else if you want. I’m...
