I had the pleasure of experiencing a delightful lunch at PANE E SOUVLAKI, and the overall dining experience left me thoroughly impressed.

Despite our spontaneous decision to drop in for lunch, we were pleasantly surprised to secure a table for two after waiting for approximately 15 minutes. The restaurant is often bustling, but the wait was certainly worth it.

The waitstaff promptly presented us with the menu within two minutes, although placing our order took around 15 minutes. This might seem a bit lengthy, but observing the hardworking waitstaff revealed they were handling a significant workload, especially considering the restaurant also handles deliveries. The dedication was evident.

Our patience was rewarded with a wait of about 30 minutes for our food, and let me tell you, it was well worth it. The preparation and seasoning of the meat were impeccable, and the Greek salad was a perfect complement. I was thoroughly convinced that this establishment offers some of the best dishes in town.

We had been so looking forward to eating here. Got here early ( 5pm) to beat the dinner crowd . We chose a table upstairs which was empty. The waiter came up 3 times to get things but never asked us for our order or even asked if we wanted drinks. 30 minutes later a Greek couple showed up and he instantly took their order and brought them drinks! We were still waiting! He then finally took our order and seemed quite unfriendly with us compared to them! The Greek couple got their food and we thought well, they're making ours fresh as the menu says ( all food is made fresh) but when our food finally arrived after a VERY long wait our Souvlaki was COLD! The fried potatoes ( French fries )were soggy and drenched in grease! And had obviously been sitting there a long time! The couple also received several pieces bread with their food, my daughter only got one small piece! Even they looked over and seemed to notice! Not once did the waiter ever come back and ask if we needed anything! We sat for almost an hour and had to find someone we could pay! On our way out the waiter asked me if I PAID! As if I would leave without paying! So now I'm being accused of a crime on top of bad service...

This is a very over hyped place in my opinion. There many recommendations however the food is similar to everything else and the portions are smaller.

€30 for a mixed grill with barely any salad and 2 skewers is a bit steep. Yes you get the other items too but youre better off going for a singular meal. Both pitas we had were still doughy in the middle as they werent fully cooked. And the turkey and the lamb was over cooked. The skewers were really good however and i did enjoy them highly.

The service was awful tho. Hardly any service to be honest.

And the waiter came upstairs after ten minutes and just dragged the table bashing our legs against the table leg. Then just started to pull the bench we. were on then made our friend sit on a stool to make more space. However they didnt even use the end of the table. Then we waited over 50 minutes for food.

Overall it was ok but definitely not a 4.4...
