YAMI Sushi & Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands

Horrible service. We went in the summer of 2019 and it was supposedly full. I am saying supposedly because they had many empty tables. Granted, the tables were big and could seat larger groups (4-5 people).

The waiter told us to wait but was not giving us any update for more than 10 minutes. We were 2 folks. A group of 3 came after us and were seated immediately. I asked what is up with them taking our turn, and the waiter said we were only 2 individuals. I was surprised as a Greek native because I am not used to such practices.

Now, I am not sure if that person was actually a waiter or was just helping or was the supervisor.

Extremely bad service.

When I complained about the group taking our turn, the waiter said they were not the store manager. When I suggested we could just use the bar to get served, they said they couldn't serve us at the bar.

I received a response to this review in Greek by the owner of the place, questioning my judgment. They said I was probably mistaking them for a different place because they don't have a "waiter", they only have a "waitress". LIke I said, I don't know if that person was a waiter or helping or the store manager for that day. Second, I see the photos and the location and that's the place for sure. Third, Corfu is not a huge town. I am sure they only have one YAMI Sushi place. Instead of the owner apologizing, even if I am mistaken (which I am not), they are calling me crazy. Furthermore, they are suggesting that should be a common practice when people reserve tables. Well, the group that was seated didn't reserve a table. At least that was not the excuse they gave me.

I normally don’t write reviews but.. Best Chinese food in Europe! I had a craving for Chinese when strolling through Corfu and happened upon this place in a corner of the main road. The food was AMAZING - the sweet and sour chicken was light, crispy and sweet, the noodles were soft, flavourful with the right amount of texture. The dim sum was perfectly cooked and packed with flavour. After dining in Chinese restaurants all round Europe I’ve got much to reference, but not many can compare. I would normally argue quality/ quantity but this place has both - great quality and had plenty to go round. Great customer service and professionalism from staff. I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting an authentic Chinese...

I have been eating Chinese all my life and I usually get the same dishes everywhere I go. This place is by far the worst I have ever tasted. Satay chicken felt frozen and it was rock hard, with a sauce that had nothing to do with the typical peanut flavour, it felt as if it was from a ready made sauce mix powder. WonTon soup had under cooked wonton pastry, broth filled with extreme amounts of oyster sauce, absolutely uneatable. Chicken curry - you could feel the curry granules at the back of your throat as if it was from a ready made (mix) sauce powder. Paid way too much for the quality of the food (65 euros for 2 main chicken dishes, 3 sides (egg fried rice, wonton soup and fried wonton)...
