All the reviews on here seem outdated (especially during COVID) so here is an updated one:||||Liked:||1. Absolutely gorgeous view and a pleasure to wake up to in the morning! The balcony was my favourite part of the stay - with a retractable roof shade (with a remote to pull it back or out) and comfortable chairs.||2. Air-con was great and cooled the room quickly.||3. Good cooking facilities and cutlery.||4. Close to shops, restaurants and the beach.||5. Good communication with host and staff despite not being on-site.||6. Lovely TV with inbuilt Netflix to wind down before bed.||||Disliked: Very very overpriced for what we had. Overall disappointed to have paid so much for this stay. I wanted to love it especially with all the fantastic reviews.||||1. Very small room, even though we had the studio with the sea room.||2. Hot water only lasted for a few minutes a day. While it was clear this was an issue only in our room, and whilst the host sent staff twice to try to fix this, they were unable to which meant either only my partner or myself were able to have a hot shower each day, and for a short time. Not ideal especially after being in cold oceans and when there were cold evenings, as we were there in October!||3. Even with the shower doors completely shut, a quick shower would wet the entire bathroom floor and our bathroom mat would be completely soaked.||4. Neither my partner nor I liked the bed - quite stiff as were the pillows.||5. Difficult to find initially and this should be made clear! The entrance is a winding walkway near Port Alipa, turn left after Limani Restaurant. Our taxi driver also did not know where the entrance was and we had to ask a local at a shop nearby.||6. Advertised as being "on the beach" but it is more like "on the port" - nobody swims or really even lounges here as it's full of boats and petrol fumes.||7. No basic amenities provided - i.e. no tea, coffee, sugar, milk, salt, pepper, oil, or shower gel. I understand now that this is more of an apartment than a hotel but I have stayed at AirBNBs better stocked than this. The hand soap was basically diluted hand sanitiser which was not ideal for proper...
Read moreAfter an evening flight my wife and I arrived at the property around midnight, it was very dark, lighting in the area being very limited. we were met after a few minutes by the owner with a flashlight who led us down a narrow passage between other buildings. We were both wondering nervously where we had been accommodated? The apartment seemed rather small but we were very tired so we went to bed saying, oh well lets see how we feel in the morning. we awoke the next day, opened the curtains stepped out onto our veranda and wow!! an uninterrupted view across the bay, we sat out, had breakfast and reflected on this gem of a find .As the week progressed we fell more in love with our lovely little apartment and would have liked to stay longer. The kitchen had everything one need needs for 10 days in the sun. The twin beds were comfortable, linen changed regularly and the room was cleaned every other day. There was a short path and steps down to the harbour beach. To add to this the owner was lovely and very helpful.||Paliocastritsa, is beautiful with a choice of pretty beaches. We seldom visit a holiday destination twice but this may have to be an exception.||If you arrive at night don't be put off by the approach to Napoleon I'm sure you will love it as we did. It's not posh! simple...
Read moreWe stayed in the top floor apartment A, it had 2 bedrooms 2 bathrooms, and a kitchen, and 1 long balcony, and another small balcony off the kitchen. Their were lovely views of the harbour (Alipa) . Yes the shower areas in the bathroom were small but pretty much the usual for Greece, we didn't bother with the shower curtain as the floor dried pretty quicky in the heat. The kitchen area was nice and well equipped, the air conditioning in the bedrooms was very good if a little noisy at times. The apartment was nice if a little rough around the edges in places, but for the price we paid it was very good value, and I would stay there again.||Alipa beach is just in front of the apartments, there are sunloungers to use by the path down to the beach.|| We got a very good price from the owners, and booked direct with them, and they picked us up at the airport and took us back, all included in the price.||I really enjoyed staying there and would recommend it. ||I recommend going to Lakones, and Angelokastro, walking up to both places if you are into walking. Getting the boat taxis to Liapades to the beaches and walking up to the old village. We also went to Cassiopi, it has a lovely pretty harbour. Corfu town is lovely although we didn't visit there this time as we were there at...
