We've been in Crete for 4 days already, and have tried quite a number of restaurants. It's surprising that so far, one of the BEST Cretan cuisine experiences we've had is in this lovely café/bar; it's really good that with been here twice already, and will do so again in the next days.
The service is excellent. Alex and team were so accommodating and kind to us, explaining their cuisine in detail (we were only choosing vegetarian options) with all smiles. We felt extremely comfortable being there. Of course, the sea-front view of this café is perfect. Hearing the waves lap while sipping on a cool drink makes it a most therapeutic experience.
The cuisine served here is AMAZING. Apparently, the owner of this restaurant prepares the food himself - explaining the authentically delicious food. Tasting Cretan Cuisine for our very first time here in this restaurant certainly made the benchmark really high.
Our favourites: Vegetarian Gemista - Tomato & Aubergine stuffed with rice and Greek herbs Dolmadakia - Stuffed Vine leaves with rice Fennel Pie Fava bean mash Zucchini Balls
I've enjoyed every single dish in this restaurant so far (as compared to other restaurants here that we've tried, where some dishes were really unsatisfactory). *Check out the aerial photographs we took with our drone. With the sea-front experience, this place is really lovely. In my next 5 days left here, I'm bound to...
Read moreA lovely place with amazing view right by the water. We went here for brunch and was very satisfied. The chicken club sandwich plate was delicious (but big) and the young girl who served us at lunch time was very kind and friendly! I would highly recommend. We later came back for dinner to try the greek local tapas (called meza I think). We ordered the zucciniballs, cheese-stuffed kebab and meatballs and shared everything. It was good too but maybe the meatballs was a bit dry. I did not get the soda that I ordered until I reminded the waiter and when it arrived it was not a sprite but some greek soda that I didn’t know what is was. It was okay of course, but I would have wanted to just be informed about the soda if they maybe were out of sprite that evening of so. Overall a nice place by the water, polite waiters and a...
Read moreFirst night in Chania and we chose this place for our meal.... We both love fish, so we went for the fish sharing plate... We have never had a bad fish plate in Greece, but we have now.l!! The calamari was chewy, the octopus was rock hard and the other fish overcooked and hard... The only nice piece of fish was the small fillet... As if that wasn't bad enough they put crab sticks on the dish..CRAB STICKS!
Sadly not impressed at all.. The accompanying Greek Salad was actually very nice, so maybe they're just not good at doing fishy things! Service was good and friendly, but overall we'll be voting...
