Notus is a fabulous place to stay – loved our 1 week stay here. We stayed in one of the apartments on the first floor at the front overlooking the street and a sea-view to the side. Great apartment, that was clean and light and bright. It had everything we needed. Regular cleaning of the apartment and changing of the linens was great, and it always smelt really nice too. Location is perfect in the old town and within easy reach of everything in the town. There is free parking on the street and we never had a problem parking nearby (but you need to move your car on a Friday night as there is a street market on a Saturday). The market starts around 6am although didn’t wake us up. The owner/host is wonderful, friendly and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble. Thoroughly recommend and if we come back to Chania we will absolutely come back to stay.

Bad experience. Stay clear. Let me say good things first. Good: The unit is awesome. Great equipment and furniture. Self check in a breeze. Bad: Location is pretty convenient but not right in the center. 5-10 min walk. Ugly: staff is poorly trained and they use lobby as a housekeeping closet. - On poorly trained, I booked a double room and explicitly told I don't want the room with view towards the white wall. Guess what? They put me there and when I objected they told me "told try to blame your mistake on us" and "we are good and don't need training". I'm pretty hard hitting but when I hear this I know these guys are becoming complacent. - on housekeeping closet as a lobby, see picks.

Loved staying at the Notus hotel for our recent holiday. We stayed in the top floor sea view room which has a huge balcony. Manolis was fabulous in providing very helpful information on beaches, restaurants, shopping, transport and anything else we needed. The hotel in a very good location and less than 5 minute walk to the Vatican harbour, the centre of town, shopping, lots of restaurants, and bars and clubs, but in a quiet street so it was never noisy. The rooms were very clean, secure and spacious. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again if back in Crete.

How lucky I was to have chosen Notus Hotel! Perfect central location in old Chania town and yet quiet and peaceful. All points of interest are within walking distance as are excellent restaurants and bars. The room is well equiped; A/C, comfortable large bed, fridge (which had water, a beer and small bottle of wine for free), kettle, coffee machine, plates and cutlery. The bathroom has a hair dryer, shampoo and soap. All is soptless! Loved the Saturday street market bemow my balcony!|The owner, Manolis, is the perfect host! He is there to greet you in the morning and you can ask him about anything, always helpful and he gives great advice on where to go and what not to miss. And a big thank you to Monica, who is part of the cleaning staff, for he good mood and kind smile you offer every morning. If I come back to Chania, I’ll be...
