What a JOKE ...Literally! We couldn't get a table for dinner on Sunday evening. On Monday, we went back to the restaurant around noon and made a reservation at the bar for the next day. When we asked if we could get a table for tomorrow evening, the "nice" man replied smiling, "OF COURSE! FIRST ROW ON THE BEACH?" To which we replied with an enthusiastic YES, PLEASE. We were a bit confused when he didn't want our name and told my boyfriend, "I DON'T NEED YOUR NAME, I'LL BE HERE AND REMEMBER YOU." The next evening, we realized why he was grinning the whole time while talking to us: THE RESTAURANT IS CLOSED ON TUESDAY! We stood in front of the sign, stunned, when we read that, feeling punked and disrespected! We definitely won't dare try again and will never come back! But we're still a little grateful for this situation; Because we happened to stumble upon the best restaurant in the area, "Arhondiko Traditional Taverna," and had a wonderful evening with excellent food and friendly service that was second to none. There, we experienced appreciation and respect for guests, whereas at Greco Mare the guy made a fool out of...
Read moreFirst of all we are looking for very personal experience, so this place is a must for us. It was not a chain of bars, but a private experience. The owners are wonderful, sweet, nice, kind, and all you can come up with, people. The restaurant is impeccably clean, the service is very fast, you come, they appear in an instant. The menu is not very big but it has all the essentials and among them are: Exceptional house wine Cretan salad or Greek salad to die for (huge with a full packet of cheese and an individually packed bottle of olive oil). My favourite: saganaki cheese, fresh, yummy and perfect. Night time comfort food... Excellent fish. Gyros, which was divine and then, with all the goodness in our tummies, we got ice cream and raki for free.... We came a few times. Do come, too. And ask for recommendations and enjoy the view, the atmosphere and enormous work they have put to keep the place full of love and...
Read moreFood - unfortunately, presentation and what was served - for example, on a mezze plate - wasn't amazing, and wasn't ORGANIC (as was mentioned in the ad outside), and it could be made by a teenager instead of a chef. I found it unprofessional and a bit pushy to put me in a situation where the waiter asked if I would like a pay tip for the staff. I'm always happy to give a tip, but not when food is not good and I'm being pushed to give a tip. It need to be added that prices do not match the quality with comparition of other places - for exmaple without a sea view. However, the atmosphere and...
