Downtown — Restaurant in Municipality of Chersonissos

The menu was promising however when the food arrived it was nothing like we expected and even nothing like the menu itself had described it. Firstly we had to wait for like 40 minutes for our food while there was basically no other customers. Then came the food...we ordered a greek salad, fish and chips and pasta carbonara. Greek salad was missing the onion and had too much oil and cheese. Fish n chips were literally just fish sticks and bad fries with unwashed lettuce on the side. The pasta had a delicious description mentioning bacon and salami as well as a 65 degree egg sauce but the pasta I got just tasted like cream and had some thin ham slices in it, you could tell it is not the 'real' pasta carbonara. It would have been fine if it tastes good but it was all just so meh. Also the water was just a scam, 2€ for a tiny 0,5L bottle of water?? All the other places have given us at least a big 1L bottle with that money. And most of the things on the menu had no description of ingredients, so we didn't know what to expect. Perhaps the service is quicker and food better in the evenings but during the siesta times, don't bother...

I don’t even want to give this place any stars. Food was a disgrace, even after the owner was yelling from the streets, that his food was “best quality and fresh”.

Can’t recommend this place.

“Plastic” cheese on the pizza’s and in the toast. AKA probably Palm Oil cheese. Very disgusting.

The salad we had , was drenched in dressing , probably to disguise the very dry and old chicken…

When you stand on the streets and pull people in, and tell them “ very fresh and best quality food”. And then you serve that garbage, very rude and disgusting.

On top of that, you allow yourself to take 70 euro’s for 2 pizza’s , 1 toast and a salad and something to drink.

Very disgusting place and food.

You leave with the feeling of have being robbed and lied to.

Just save your money, and go to all the other good places down in city. Because this place is just out to rob your money on disgusting food.

My 5 year old son ate 2 slices of his pizza and said he did not like the taste and that it tasted “funny”. That should say something, when a kid don’t even want to...

What can i tell? Let's start with prices... Downtown is a place, where you can stay whole day and they won't charge you like some other places in Herssonissos. They keep their prices firm. Food: excelent, club sandwich (recomendable), burger (to big for one person). Location: nice, by the main road, only one thing "kinda wrong" is a bus station just beside the bar... but you can feel the beat of the town all day long. Summer breeze is allways there. Now, the most important... STAFF: hmmmm, they are THE GOAT 🐐 Greatest Of All Time... in the Crete. They are polite, nice, cheerfull when needed and most of all respectfull.

Be carefull around them, you might get addicted for coming back for more & more, just like we did for 14 days twice a day straight.

Mr. Armando, Mr. Vangelis, Mr. Valentino, mrs. Lila, miss. Miroslawa and a guy (i didn't catch a name) they are a boundry of the bar.
