Quite easily the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. I’ve never in my life got up and walked out of a restaurant until visiting this one.
Things started on a sketchy note when the man who seated us made our group of nine sit on two tables of four, which he said was for “tax reasons”, whatever that could mean. After waiting a little while to order from a less-than-friendly waitress who couldn’t understand a word we said as we read word for word what our orders were from the menu, our drinks arrived and the Greek entertainment started, which consisted of two men and two women dancing to traditional music.
Since the entertainment was on, we were expecting to have to wait a little bit longer than usual for our food, but nothing could’ve prepared us for the hour long wait that followed, during which the Greek entertainment slowly turned into Greek psychological torture. The same dance to the same song on repeat for an hour. It almost felt like they were mocking us. It may not have been quite so bad if we weren’t by this point starving and dehydrated, because not only had there not been any sign of even a starter appearing, but no one had even come over to ask if we wanted any more drinks. We did want more drinks.
Things suddenly looked optimistic when some food came to our table, but only half of the food turned up, and only half of the food was what we ordered. When we told the waiter that one of the dishes was wrong, he laughed and shrugged his shoulders as if to say “what can I do about it?” We made him take it back and he eventually brought the right dish, but he shouldn’t have bothered, because the food ended up being disgusting anyway.
As one half of our group tried their best to force down what they could of their meals, the only thing on our side of the table was our long since empty beer glasses. After asking the half-bored waitress repeatedly where our food was, she eventually told us it would be there in two minutes. We told her that if it wasn’t there in two minutes we were getting up and going. Either she didn’t care or she didn’t understand us (I suspect the latter), because two minutes passed, and still no sign of food. So, we got up and walked out, which we should have done an hour earlier.
The rest of the group stayed to try their best to finish their meals, and told us that the waitress didn’t realise we’d left until ten minutes after we did, and didn’t seem at all bothered or even surprised that we’d gone. After we left we went straight into the restaurant next door, a lovely little family run business where we were met with a friendly waiter, fast service, and great food.
Seriously do not bother going here, I’ve only gave it 1 star because it won’t let me give it 0. Go straight past it and go into Taverna...
Read moreI have never been more disappointed by a restaurant ever! Do not come here. So genuinely upset by our experience tonight and that I didn’t read some of these reviews before coming.
We waited an hour and a half before our starters came out, and when we asked how long the food would be and that the baby was starving they told us we were basically in the wrong and we need to “relax and watch the show” this show was fun at first but after an hour and a half of the same song with them still dancing I was over it.
If I could give this 0 stars I would.
The starters were actually quite nice which made us feel a bit better but then things just got worse from there.
We then had another painful wait for our mains which we didn’t even want anymore by this point, but the baby still had not eaten.
Every interaction with our waiter was poor from start to finish, zero customer service skills.
When our mains came out we all began to ate, none of us was happy with the food, except for one, he got the spare ribs.
Everything else was either chewy, fatty and dry.
I got a pizza which tasted like it was something I get out of the freezer at home. Cheese on it was terrible.
After we stop eating we waited for a long time until anyone came to check on us so we could get the bill.
When he finally came over he saw all our food still left and didn’t say a thing just put the bill on the table, didn’t ask if it was okay and why we hadn’t eaten.
At that point I got up and went over to discuss the bill, we were really unhappy and still hungry.
He was immediately rude and started raising his voice saying for tax reasons he can’t discount us and it was basically our fault this happened. Lol
I was being super polite and not scooping to his level, trying to explain why I didn’t feel it was right that we pay the whole bill but he was continuing his rant and speaking over me.
He ended up discounting us €12 which I was not happy with but it was a losing battle.
Not once did he apologise, which I feel actually goes along way.
We have now come home and my mum, who had the chicken has been...
Read moreWe had a very unpleasant service experience at this restaurant. Earlier in the day, we walked past the restaurant and saw a sign advertising a Greek night with dancing, music, and plate smashing. The sign also stated that reservations were required. We were excited and went inside to book a table for the evening. The man who greeted us was polite and friendly, and he immediately understood where we were from. We agreed to come at 8 PM, chose our table, and he placed a "Reserved" sign on it. When we arrived at 8 PM, our table was already occupied. We explained that we had reserved that specific table, but the female server knew nothing about it. She offered us another table, but it didn't suit us because we had specifically chosen our original table for its good view and location. No one came to apologize. We ended up sitting in a back corner, and no one came to serve us for a long time. Eventually, the same man who had taken our reservation came to take our order. When we asked what happened with our reservation, he simply said, "No comments." We asked why. In response, he snatched the menus from our hands and said, "Goodbye." He then threw the menus into a corner and walked away. There was no apology, no polite or friendly behavior. This kind of treatment ruined our entire beautiful evening. The unpleasant feeling lingered for...
