I visited the place on Saturday August 15th, a party of 4 people. We tried the following dishes: 1) Greek salad: The salad was fresh and tasty but you can rarely go wrong with a salad like that 2) Fava beans with a cured bonito fish: It was delicious but the fava needed more acidity 3) Octopus stew with carrot puree: Nice flavour and texture of the octopus and the carrot puree was also tasty. However some minor attention to detail was neede e.g. ones of the carrots still had some of the roots not removed 4) Greater Amberjack fish on the grill: The fish itself was tasty and well cooked but it was only accompanied with thinly sliced carrots and zucchini. I could not identify the mint lemon dressing and no sauce to accompany the fish 5) Mille feuille with caramelized puff pastry: Not a mille feuille. 3 layers of caramelised puff pastry and between them a creme patisserie that tasted like market- bought The overall quality of the food was nice and the food itself was tasty. There is a very big BUT coming over. Along with a bottle of wine for 4 ppl the bill came at around 50€/ person. For Greece this is on the pricier side and prices of this kind would require two things: i) More complex techniques on the table and ii) Good service Let me talk about the service. It was bad. The intention was there but they certainly lack training. Let me explain: The first time we tried to visit the restaurant was on August 13th. We arrived without a reservation, we were sat down and 5' later we were told there was a mistake and this table was reserved and we had to get up and leave. Obviously mistakes like this happen all the time so we asked to make a reservation for next time. When we asked for a reservation on August 15th at around 9:30 we were told it would be better if it were around 10. On August 15th and as I have the nasty habit of showing up earlier than my reservation, I went there at 09:45. When I told the person in charge that we had a reservation for 10, she replied "Is it 10 yet?" Personally, I find this reply unacceptable. The intentions were not bad but nonetheless it is my personal belief you do not reply to a customer like that. We left and came back at 10. We were sat down at a waiting table and that's when I realised that since the restaurant did not operate with time slots, we were simply waiting for someone to leave. However, if all the tables decided they wanted e.g. an extra bottle of wine we would never eat. This added to my frustration. Luckily, a table was emptied and we were sat at 10:17. After we ordered, the waitress would come over and when pouring wine or water she would ask the people sitting the furthest away from the table to raise their glasses and help her instead of her going around the table to do so. Again, this is a 50€/ person restaurant. Lastly, when we asked for dessert, she informed us that the kitchen told her that it would take some time before they arrived since they were bottlenecked. We told her to ask the kitchen how much time would be needed to which we got the response: "We have no idea". When the desserts finally arrived, mine was laying flat because "apologies, the mille feuille tower crashed while we were bringing this to your table". I do not think I would visit again...

No hospitality First disclaimer: I was not even able to eat in this place. My feedback is linked with their hospitality. I tried three times in this place but without success. 1st try: I went there one evening to reserve a table for the days after. “Sorry we are to busy now to take you’re reservation. Please call”. Understandable, the restaurant was full. 2nd try: I called in the afternoon and a guy told me: No need for reservation, you’ll find a table for one person at 9. I went at 9pm the same day: Sorry no tables and I don’t know when one will be free. 3rd try: I went the evening after and again no tables. I asked a lady what I have to do to eat there and when to come. She replied: we don’t take reservations at 9pm, but only at 8pm. Now there are no tables and please come later but don’t know when. Ok fine. That’s not anymore the place I want to eat. I don’t...

The menu outside the restaurant said that they offer lobster but since usually they have very few we went inside to ask if it was available. The maitre of the restaurant said that they have a small one but we need to come back in 45 minutes because they had no table available. We came back after 45min and ordered the lobster that they supposedly have kept for us. After we ordered and already had the salad she came back to say that the lobster is bigger that what we expected and if we still want it. 5 minutes later she came back and said that there is no lobster and there was a mistake in the kitchen!! This has never happened to us before it’s a shame and highly unprofessional. They could have checked if they have it the time we ordered not after we had drinks and salad. They need to change their...

The negative reviews almost put me off from trying this restaurant but I'm so glad I went. It turned out to be our favorite meal in folegandros! If you're looking for elevated Greek classics definitely give this place a try. They had scorpion fish (rare!) which ran out by the time we ordered. We had the lamb mastelo special of the day, which was absolutely delicious and so flavorful. We also had the chickpea soup which was very unique. Their beet salad is truly special and a must order. We concluded with a pasta and a dessert. Reservations are a must as it gets really busy. The service could be better (from the young male host) but our female waitress was lovely.

You will truly feel like you are in a small oasis of trees, make sure you like cats. + Unbelievably beautiful setting with (I counted) more than 12 different types of tree adding to the wonderful atmosphere + Friendly staff, good service and tasty food - On the higher end of price scale when compared with other restaurants for what we ate - As you are on a side street there are a lot of cats that roam around (But this might just be Folegandros)
