Horrible service.
We went for dinner and stayed on the ground floor. The waitress was awful! We had to seat where she pointed. She had no time for questions about the menu. I ordered the "tomato croquettes" and as I wanted to make sure it was the same dish I saw online I asked if it was fried. She replied " yes of course, do you want it" with a condescending look. She was not even very busy, looking after only 6 tables. Meanwhile the host, an older man, was coming in and out the kitchen being lovely with people and recommending dishes.
The waitress started to bring our orders and mentioned that one of the dish I wanted was not available anymore. She did not ask if I wanted something else. The food was good but she ruined my meal.
When we finished eating after 15 minutes, she came and slammed a small glass containing the bill in the middle of our table, again no smile, no thank you, not even eye contact, and walked away.
We paid 31 euros for 2 starters, 1 main dish and a pichet of red wine.
Very disappointing and we will certainly...
Read moreOh dear, I didn't take any photos of the food apparently. (u_u) My friends and I were visiting Greece for the first time. :) We're from Singapore, so most of the Greek dishes are new to us.
We were very fortunate to have dined at En Plo, and meet both the owner and some of his old customers. We had a lovely chat with them and tried some dishes including a fantastic stewed(?) octopus dish, rabbit stew and stuffed tomatoes. In Singapore, at least, the grilled octopus in Greece is often highlighted, but I would recommend the stewed(?) octopus instead. (´˘`)♡ The rabbit meat in the rabbit stew has the same texture as chicken (although, from my limited experience, rabbit may have a texture more similar to frog). 🤔 The stuffed tomatoes are also fantastic and commonly found in most Greek restaurants. The food at En Plo's understandably more expensive than that of Athens (which is normal for the restaurants on the Cyclade Islands).
Five stars for the fantastic hospitality, decent price point and amazing...
Read moreBest old school bar in Milos! (This review is for the upstairs bar.) Amazing 180 degree view, like being on the bow of a ship. En Plo means ‘on board’ so it naturally has a nautical theme with a captain’s wheel and boat ropes. Great Greek wine list and the cocktails looked fun. You get a little cheese and olives snack with your drink. Great value. Staff very chilled and friendly. Nice mix of Greeks and foreigners. Totally unpretentious. I’m definitely on board with several visits over my week stay in...
