I would highly recommend a visit to this beautiful and sacred place. The catacombs have been carefully restored so that visitors can see them. Considering how the area had been badly treated in the past, before becoming a protected area, I think the team that did the restoration have done an excellent job. The guide was very informative and helpful. She gave the tour in English and Greek. There was no rush to look around and if you are curious to know more about the history the guide invites you to ask questions. My experience was that the tour will take as long as you want it too. We asked many questions about the history and size of the whole catacomb area. The guide was patient and ready to answer our questions. The catacomb was creatively displayed with good lighting. We were able to take photographs without a flash. This is an incredibly important historic site for early Christian settlers on Milos and it is a joy to see it lovingly restored...

This underground Christian cemetery, dating back to the 1st-5th century AD, is one of the important underground tombs discovered to date. Originally used as a cemetery, the area was also used as a hiding place and place of worship for Christians during the Roman period.

The tombs, where more than 2000 people are estimated to be buried, are very well preserved and very well arranged for visits. It is a place worth visiting and offers its visitors a different experience in a different atmosphere.

There is a reasonable fee of 4€ to visit and they let you in in small groups periodically. The visits consist of a short tour and are accompanied by a guide. Our guide was polite and had a nice tone of explanation. The guide proved that he was knowledgeable about the place he was in with his short and descriptive answers to...

Terrible!

The queuing system here has alot to be desired. The groups were being called in ticket number order 5 at a time, but people were being let in by the staff even though they had only just bought tickets.

Two separate tours had groups of 4-6 people join them out of ticket order which only meant the people who were waiting were waiting longer.

As it was they managed 30 numbered tickets in 30 mins with two tour guides tours taking about 10 mins each.

I had originally been told there would have been a 30 min wait (which there would have been had people actually only been allowed to join in ticket order) but since at the rate they were going there would have been at least another 30 mins wait before my ticket was called, I asked for a...

Super old burial places carved in volcanic sand cliffs. Interesting place to see how ancient people buried their loved ones. Unfortunately the catacombs were found after being looted and there aren't any relics to see. Cool place! And it is very close to where the Aphrodite of Milos was originally discovered, there is a replica on the way of it on the way to the catacombs. Be prepared to walk the stairs down and then up after your visit, about 3 switchbacks. We didn't have to wait long for our guided visit included in the €10 ticket, people under 18 are free.

Tried to get in at 3:30pm, but it was closed due to new opening hours. They now do the last tour at 3:10pm. See image for more information. At least we were able to go to the ancient theatre, which is nearby and is always open. Note that you can get to the Catacombs by taking the bus to Trypiti. Just get off on the next stop after Plaka, where there is a dedicated stop for the Catacombs. There is a sign there so you know you are in the right place, then it's a 10min walk.

Highly recommended ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We were surprised that entry (€4 each) included a guide who was absolutely amazing. It was only two of us so it was like we had our own private tour. The Catacombs themselves were also amazing and the surrounding vista is breathtaking. Make sure to visit the original location of the Aphrodite of Milos (Venus Di Milo) and Ampitheatre of Milos as well which are within walking distance.
